The Target Ship
Dedicated to Cape Cod's sunken ghost ship.
More to come!!

Also known as the USS James Longstreet, this ship went to war in the 40s, but fate intervened when she was stranded on a shole off the New Jersey coast.  Towed to Cape Cod Bay, she was thereafter used for target practice by the US military.  Ceasing in the 70s, the ship was left on its sand bar just off First Encounter Beach, to become a beloved member of Cape Cod attractions.  But all good things must come to an end - the Target Ship finally succumbed to the waves in the April's Fool storm only a few years ago.  But remains of its ghastly hull can still be seen protruding from the endless sea!
