The color poems here were written using similies for the senses of hearing, tasting, touching, smelling. The sense of sight was used to imagine the color and then related back to the other four senses.

WHITE

White sounds like an ice cube ringing in the freezer like a bell in the kitchen.
White feels like a horse galloping in the field like a wild horse.
White feels like snow that is beautiful in the wintertime with snowflakes.
White smells like sugar in the morning in my Dad's coffee.

 

PINK

Pink sounds like a soft, snorting pig in its pen.
Pink smells like a gorgeous carnation blooming in your magnificent garden.
Pink tastes like cold, cherry ice cream melting in your mouth.
Pink feels like the soft flower petal of a violet.

 

BLACK

Black sounds like the sound of a glowing car.
Black smells like the hideous licorice.
Black tastes like shiny plums
Black feels like a cat in your hands.

 

WHITE

White smells like a magnificent white rose in my garden waiting to be picked.
White tastes like cauliflower mixed with my mashed potatoes.
White feels like the smooth petals on a carnation.

 

GREEN

Green smells like mint growing in a superb garden.
Green tastes like fresh sun-ripened grapes on a vine.

Green feels like a gigantic alligator chomping on my body.

LIGHT BLUE

Light blue smells like fresh air soaring in a jiffy.
Light blue feels like a soft fuzzy blanket.
Light blue tastes like crystal clear water from the river.

 

RED

Red is like the sound of a cardinal chirping in the morning.
Red is like the smell of unspoiled strawberries in the garden.
Red is like the taste of sugary raspberries in  your mouth.
Red feels like a red ball that is shiny and bouncy.

 

BLUE

Blue smells like blueberries in a patch.
Blue tastes like magnificent cotton candy at a circus.
Blue feels like a super-soaker soaking you with water.

 

BLACK

Black smells like a skunk spraying its tail.
Black tastes like blackberries I pick from a bush.
Black feels like a hideous black rabbit going through the woods.

 

RED

Red smells like a delicious raspberry that just got picked.
Red tastes like a luscious apple to eat for lunch.
Red feels like a red crayon to color with.

 

BLUE

Blue is the smell of magnificent baby shampoo.
Blue is like the taste of sweet blueberries in my mouth.
Blue is like the feeling of a soft blue blanket.

Red is like a watermelon on a hot summer day squeezing juice into my mouth.
Red is like apples growing on a tree in the backyard.
Red is like a soft red coat on my shoulder.

 

BLUE

Blue smells like the magnificent blueberry pie baked by grandma.
Blue tastes like blueberry cramsauce in my mouth.
Blue feels like cold water rushing through a stream.

 

YELLOW

Yellow is like the sound of dad bringing a handful of daisies in and putting them in the vase on the table.
Yellow is the smell of my sister when she has rich, buttery, yellow popcorn from the microwave.
Yellow is the taste of the great, delicious, yellow banana that all the monkeys are fighting for.
Yellow is the feeling of a bumpy, oval lemon mom just handed me.

Purple tastes like a tasty summer blossom dissolving in a jiffy in my mouth.
Purple feels like a soft stuffed animal sleeping soundly next to me in bed.
