One of the most influential bands of the early nineties, Rage against the Machine is a band that defies most boundries.  The sonic assault that is a result of the combination of Zack de la Rocha and masterful guitarist Tom Morello is driven by a common hatred of hate itself.  RATM is not afraid to make a stand for something that they believe in.  While Zack recently left the group, the three albums they made collectively will always be three of the greatest rock albums of all time.  Rage has always had a huge underground following, and it would not do them justice to gain mainstream appeal.  I was lucky enough to see them play at Lollapalooza in 1996.  My favorite (as with most people I know) is the first, self-titled album.
