Mad Lion
A pioneer of hip hop and reggae, Mad Lion has one of the most unique sounds ever concieved.  Reggae and hip hop have always run parallel to each other, both genres containing artists who have always complimented, and worked, with each other.  But Mad Lion is a pioneer and an underappreciated force in the hip hop industry.  The recipient of a 1994 Source award for reggae artist of the year, he has inspired numerous sound alikes, but none can match the originator.

Mad Lion is a native of London, England, but was raised primarily in Jamaica.  But it wasn't until he moved to Brooklyn and met Super Cat that his destiny would become fulfilled.  Super Cat suggested he adopt the name/acronym Mad Lion, which stands for Musical Assassin Delivering Lyrical Intelligence Over Nations.  He eventually hooked up with KRS-One, and together they produced Real Ting (1993) and Ghetto Gold Platinum Respect (1997).  Last year he produced the album Predatah or Prey.  You can also find a compilation with Sublime on their album Second Hand Smoke.
