The campaign is now underway. This week launches a media blitz, ads, debates, all that. Well not really...but I did get my website up finally. Head over to www.boforsenate.com and check it out. This week there is one event that could really get things going for me though. There's a dude named Phil Valentine who hosts a radio talk show here in Nashville that goes all over the state, and he's holding an "Anti-Illegal Immigration" rally down at Centennial Park Thursday night. So my plan is to make a bunch of flyers with my website and some key points and stuff, and take them down there and start to hand them out. Yeah, this campaign will definitely give the term "grass roots campaign" a whole new meaning. My plan is to work in the Middle Tennessee area over the summer and hopefully get my message out on radio and stuff, then in the Fall start traveling to other cities in the state where hopefully some people will show up for speeches. See, this rally could be a HUGE boost because I seriously doubt any of the other candidates will be there. Why? Because then they will have to take a hard-core stand on something that is deemed controversial in the political realm. I honestly think that Democrats won't do anything to enforce the laws of illegal immigration because they want the hispanic vote, and Republicans won't do anything because they have too many buddies who employ these guys as cheap labor...could be the same for Democrats too. They fail to see the big picture and how sick of it Johnny Citizen is. Serious, when leprosy...yes I said leprosy...cases start appearing in the U.S., I think it's time to go "ENOUGH!!!". But illegal immigration isn't the only reason I'm running, there's other stuff too.
I hate Amnesty International. Last week it was the ACLU I hated (and still do) and this week it's Amnesty International...those watchdogs of human rights. While North Korea slaughters and imprisons people in barbaric ways, while countries in Africa have warlords who starve the people, these self-righteous jerks want to call the prison at Guantanomo Bay a "gulag". That has got to be one of the most ridiculous comparisons ever made. That's like me saying that "When Harry Met Sally" contains all the same drama and intensity that "Blackhawk Down" does. All of this because of some stupid article Newsweek came out with about the Koran being flushed down a toilet. Oh the HORROR!!! Now reports are coming out saying a Koran was kicked and that piss came through some vent and might have got on one. If one of my Bibles was kicked or whatever, I wouldn't dig it too much, but I wouldn't sit there like "WAAAAAHHHH!!! OH THIS IS LIKE A CONCENTRATION CAMP!!! WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!". Where was Amnesty International when CIVILIANS were getting their heads cut off by terrorists? Where were they when Sadaam Hussein was filling mass graves? Probably sitting at home getting high and listening to the latest Dave Matthews Band CD and trying to figure out what evil corporation is destroying the ozone layer the quickest. Ok, I have a real easy solution then - no more Korans. How about that? If it's going to cause such a problem for everyone then just take them all up and there won't be any chance of desecrating one. Sound good? I think so. And now lawyers, American lawyers are heading to Guatanomo Bay to defend these guys in American courts. Did I miss something? I swear I think I fell asleep for about a year and am missing a piece of the story because it makes NO sense. I wish the military would just stick to their guns, have some balls and say "ummmm...no". Same thing with the photos and videos the ACLU sued over from Abu Grahib which have to now be released. The military or whomever should just say "ummmm...no". When the hell did civilian courts have anything to do with military operations??? Oh and now some Senators are throwing the "impeachment" word around for President Bush, saying that he may have pushed us to war under false pretenses and all this crap. I have a beautiful idea...it is beautiful in it's simplicity...and here it is - CAN EVERYONE JUST SHUT THE HELL UP UNTIL OUR SOLDIERS ARE HOME PLEASE??? Just let them do their friggin jobs and get home and THEN you can Monday morning quarterback all you want. I swear I wish they'd reinstate sedition as an offense sometimes. The bottom line is we aren't bringing troops home until things are stable no matter how much these little groups want to whine, bitch, and complain. They are over there to do a job so why in the heck do these stupid pompous, self-righteous morons have to try and undermine everything when it won't change the fact that we still have soldiers overseas trying to get a job done? You know what the ACLU and these groups remind me of? They remind me of those types of whiney little kids on the playground that would always threaten to tell on you if you called them a name. They were the types that would run tell the teacher if they thought someone was cheating on a test. I couldn't stand those kids, and I can't stand these stupid "activist" groups. See it's easy for them to stand up to the "tyranny" of the U.S. government because it takes no guts...none at all. This is where this country is heading and it sickens me. Just like this week there was a case where a firefighter who is Muslim won a court case because he was going to have to shave his beard or be fired. Firefighters have regulations on those things, and this guy claimed it was religious discrimination. I guarantee you though if a group of firefighters started wearing big crosses on their jackets that the ACLU would sue them because they were violating that lie of "separation of church and state". Do you see a pattern here? Now this may sound a little out there...but bear with me for a second. You know how activist groups and hippie protesters want to run around and call Bush a fascist or compare him to Hitler and all that? I find it funny that those people are supporting the types of groups that Hitler himself would have been proud of. When Nazi Germany was taking shape, God was taken out of everything (figuratively, of course). The Bible had no room in Nazi Germany. Here in America, it's starting to get that way a little, you know? Nowhere NEAR the degree of Nazi Germany but slowly and surely these groups are trying to take Christianity out of everything. A Muslim can't be fired for wearing a beard that goes against regulations but a kid is barred by the courts from conducting a private Bible study during recess. The ACLU and Amnesty International are outraged over this bs mishandling of the Koran at Gitmo, but a kid is made to go home form school and change his shirt because it has a Bible verse on it. These actions sound more fascist-like then anything President Bush has done.
Oh, and how can I forget the revelation this week of the identity of Deepthroat? Wow...yippee...I can finally sleep at night now. What the news and stuff keeps failing to mention is what the whole Watergate thing was about. I consider G. Gordon Liddy a pretty reliable source on the whole thing seeing how he went to jail over it, and the whole thing had to do with a sting operation involving a list of call girls in that Democrat office. Funny how all that is left out isn't it?
Ok, rant over for this week. Next week some comedy...I promise.
