Politics...Music...blah blah blah

I sat down tonight to type some humorous anecdotes and tales of my life because I know everyone finds it beyond interesting and quite  hilarious, but stupid me checked a news site before doing this, and I'm still trying to comprehend what I saw.  California is debating a bill that would require all dogs and cats older than 4 months to be spayed or neutered.  Now here is what baffles me about this.  The same type of commie/left-wingers who were all in favor of Terri Schaivo being dehydrated to death to where one family member stated her eyeballs were cracking, are all of the sudden concerned with life?  The same ones who have no problem with tax dollars going to fund abortion clinics are now worried about the amount of money being used to get rid of stray animals?  I swear, when Michael Savage came out with the book "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder", he couldn't have stated it better.  When I got my first dog Vick, you know the one I'm constantly talking about, I waited almost a year before I got him fixed because I wasn't sure if I wanted to use him to breed or not.  If this bill passes and I lived in the Nazi state of California, I would have been fined repeatedly.  Now I am not one of those radical anti-abortion people at all.  I stay away from the whole "when does life begin" debate because the vast majority of people already have a very fixed opinion.  To me it comes down to responsibility and thinking about what you're doing before you do it.  But when tax money is going to these "planned parenthood" clinics, I get a little peeved.  Funny how they are called "planned parenthood" when 9 times out of 10 the woman leaves the clinic with her baby thrown in a trash can...wow...now that's some kickass parenting.  Before I go off on a tangent, let me just say that while I am opposed to abortion, I have never chastised a woman I've known who had one, and it would take a lot of time to explain.  No, I never got a woman pregnant and had to deal with the prospect of fatherhood, it's just hard to put into words.  I guess to me, there are a lot of bigger issues going on in the world, and I wish it wasn't such a campaign point with politicians.  I'll never forget when I was doing a radio show last year in the Senate campaign and took calls for 2 hours...one woman called and her question was where I stood on abortion.  My thought was that we are in the middle of a war right now, our federal government is ripping us off every chance they get, illegal immigrants are bankrupting the country, yet this was her biggest concern.  I told her that I am completely opposed to it but since it's not explicitly stated in the Constitution, that it should be left up to individual states.  Plus, I also stated that there is no way I could tell a woman who became pregnant due to rape or incest that she had to give birth to that child...I just couldn't do it.  The radio show host tried to bring up the innocence of the child, and while that's true, I said that for me personally I couldn't do it.  Ok, enough on that.  Wow, way more than I wanted to get into with this bill in California...hahaha.  So anyway, these leftist/commies want to once again tell people what's best.  I am so sick of the idiots in government.

Ok, let me tell you about a dream I had the other night that kept me awake for a couple of hours when I woke up from it.  In my dream I had a 13 year old daughter who had just been killed by a serial killer.  The killer was someone from my past and was targeting everyone I was close to just to mess with me.  So in my dream I'm down at the morgue to identify the body, and after I do that I'm sitting on a bench in the hallway.  The actor Ben Kingsley (Ghandi) comes and sits down next to me.  He's the criminal psychologist assigned to the case.  While he's asking me questions, a cop approaches me and hands me a large envelope addressed to me at the morgue's address.  I open it, and it's the front page of a newspaper.  Ben Kingsley asks me what it means, and I didn't know.  So I start looking at it more intensely, and then I see it.  The lead story was about a huge catastrophe in Thailand where hundreds of people died when all these boats collided in a harbor.  The photo was an overhead shot, and the fishing boats that collided formed a shape...one I had seen before.  That's when this intense music started to kick in and the camera went to my daughter's necklace.  The locket she had was somewhat in the shape of an angel, and the way the boats were in that photo mirrored her locket.  What the killer was doing was using images from the media to target his victims, so Ben Kingsley tells me that I need to tell everyone I know not to wear any jewelry or clothing with any kind of a logo or design on it.  That's pretty much where it ended...but I stayed up for a while thinking about it in the middle of the night.  Man it was just so real.  Yeah yeah, I watch too many movies...hahaha.

Speaking of movies, tonight I watched "On the Waterfront"...the old Marlon Brando film.  I had never seen it before and for some reason rented it.  WOW!  It's no wonder this movie is a classic!  But you know what really amazed me....and this shows the difference between Hollywood then and now...was that Brando's character had his big turnaround after he heard a testimony from Karl Malden's character - a priest.  Malden went on about the Crucifixion after the mob wiped out someone who talked to the cops, and was talking about how Christ was everywhere...even kneeling by the body of the guy who was just whacked.  He spoke about guilt, and how those who wouldn't take a stand for what is right are as guilty as the Roman soldiers who mocked Jesus during the Crucifixion.  It was an amazing scene, and led to Brando's character taking a stand against the mob.  If something like that came out today it would be labeled as some kind of radical right-wing religious movie...yet this one is considered a classic.  What has happened to this country???  Now we get movies like the new one with Angelina Jolie playing Daniel Pearl's widow...and from everything I've read the movie makes the Muslims who cut off her husband's head as products of the world they live in.  Oh please...cry me a river.  How in the heck can anyone with the slightest bit of common sense not recognize evil for what is?  Let me think here...Jesus said that if those we share the Word with don't receive it to shake the dust off our feet and keep walking...the Muslim religion states that if someone won't convert to kill them.  Yet Christians are the ones who are intolerant???

Ready for some big news?  Oh I know you are...hahaha.  Late Saturday night Don (my bud and the guitar player for my band NoiseCult) came down to my place and brought a DVD of the final edits and audio mix of our latest DVD!!!!  Now there are still some thing that need to be done with the in-between song stuff and everything, but this was THE final mix and edit of all the songs.  So what was my opinion?  HOLY CRAP THIS ROCKS!!!  Seriously, for a three piece band, this thing sounds monstrous and Don did an incredible job with the video editing.  Just a few more tweaks on it, and it will be ready for mass consumption.  In July we should have both the new DVD and CD ready...and to think that I'm in a band with two DVD's and three CD's blows me away.  Be sure to come out to The End on Saturday, July 7th.  This should be a great gig, and we'll be playing some new stuff!  And be sure to check out www.noisecult.com for a couple of new clips!  Oh yeah...we rock!  I do not need...a microphone...my voice is friggin...POWERFUL!!!!!  Yeah you need to see "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny" to get that one.  Later!
