Goreflakes...Breakfast of Champions

Comedy Central must love me.  Over the last two nights they showed two of my favorite South Park episodes of all time - Al Gore hunting manbearpig and "Die Hippie, Die" where hippies stage a jam fest in South Park and it's up to Cartman to take them out.  I swear, I love Parker and Stone, those two guys are brilliant when it comes to parody and making fun of something because they know how to truly capture how ridiculous some things are.  Like "Team America:  World Police"...THE funniest movie EVER made.  Crude?  Yes.  Tacky at times?  Yes.  But to watch a movie that completely ridicules those Hollywood idiots and their stand on social causes is priceless.  And that's why I have laughed so hard I've cried over the last two nights watching the episodes I mentioned.  Al Gore is an idiot, that's pretty obvious, and watching that show where he's desperately trying to convince everyone of the dangers of manbearpig and how it will destroy mankind is comedic genius.  Did you see the Oscars?  I swear, I am SO happy I bought that heavy bag last weekend to beat on, because I needed to after seeing that jackass win an Oscar.  Now I put no stock in those awards at all, but I had it on while I was working out Sunday night.  When his "documentary" won, some was holding the Oscar and started talking.  Big Al was standing next to him and the guy put his hand on Al's shoulder and said something like "it's because of this man that we can truly make a difference and save this planet for future generations"...and I honestly thought the dude was about to cry.  Me?  I was laughing like crazy.  I was laughing that someone could be that stupid to say that, and then I laughed even harder when all those idiots applauded what he said.  That's hilarious to think there are that many morons in the world because that means I could truly rule this planet if I applied myself...hahaha.  Look, I do know there are different weather patterns going on, but what else is new?  It's happened for THOUSANDS of years!  Do I think it's all because of people and fossil fuels?  Not one bit.  Now, in saying that I am not pro-pollution at all...after visiting Los Angeles and seeing the smog clouds I do know it can have an effect.  However, I do not think that me running my air conditioner at 74 versus 76 does not make one damn bit of difference except in my electric bill.  Speaking of which, I loved how the news came out about how big Al spends more in one month on electricity than the average person does in one year.  What a friggin hypocrite.  I am not some eco-freak, but I also am not a wasteful person.  For example, I don't drive around throwing trash out the window.  And I do run my air at moderate temps, but not to save the planet, it's because I try to spend as little as possible in electricity yet still stay comfortable.  I am not about to change my life because some jerk who owns three mansions or some woman playing guitar on the Oscars tells me I need to change my life to save the planet.  In fact, I have two bumper stickers on my car, and it's just to piss people off.  One says "I brake for animals, and I eat them and wear their skins", the other says "Earth first, we can mine the other planets later".  Yes, one of them got keyed by some gutless jerk, but I have them for one reason - to offend these uptight idiots, and I find it hilarious.  But back to global warming...I refuse to believe we're on a collision course with the sun because we did something.  Why?  It's very easy for me...this planet and the people on it will be around until God decides it's time for the return of Christ.  Oh I know, I'm some radical evangelic cramming my religion down people's throats, but it is what I truly believe.  Now I don't see anything wrong with caring about the environment at all...but when these hypocritical Hollywood types or Al Gore tells me how to live my life because I'm single-handedly destroying the planet, I have a problem.  Gore has NO ground to stand on with ANY real issue...so he champions a theory and is applauded for it.  I'm just so glad South Park made fun of him for doing this.  And the new season starts next week...I can't wait!  I truly hope they have an episode where Al Gore is hosting concerts to raise awareness about manbearpig...I really do.  Half man, half bear, and half pig.  And be sure to look for manbearpig droppings...they look like pig droppings but are more man-bear-ish...EXCELSIOR!!!  HAHAHAHA!!!!

Oh man...so what else is going on with me.  Well NoiseCult has some new tunes ready, and they ROCK!  And if everything works out, and I think it will, we'll be playing these at the DVD shoot on March 24th.  We did one last month at a gig - "Disciples of War", a very Slayer-esque tune.  And we're working on "Into the Never" and a happy little tune I wrote called "Wasting My Time" which is about dealing with flakes and cowards.  Not like I've EVER dealt with people like that...hahaha.  Seriously, the ONE thing that annoys me above all things besides lying is when people try to run away from their problems or issues, especially when someone else is involved.  It will always be there.  A problem never just "goes away", it has to be confronted.  And if another person is involved and you ignore whatever is going on then you are a coward.  But enough on that, I'm in a great mood tonight so I'm going to keep things light.  We're planning on a new CD to be recorded in May, and have the workings for 9 new tunes right now.  We want as many people as we can get for the DVD shoot, so please contact me if you want to show up.  It's a Saturday afternoon, and there will be food and drinks.  All I ask is that you go nuts for about 45 minutes.  It's a full-on production, unlike ANYTHING any band around here will have.  I'm talking a big stage, smoke, evil red lights, and multiple cameras...it's going to rock.

Why am I in such a good mood?  Because of the future.  I honestly wake up each day wondering what adventure awaits me.  If all I do is go to work and come home and play with my dogs, then so be it because my job isn't too bad and I love my dogs tremendously.  But each day has the possibility of a new adventure...and that hope keeps me excited.  You just never know what each day will bring.  This is one of the reasons I LOVE the mixed martial arts class I'm taking.  I had a class tonight, and when I was walking in I thought to myself "I wonder what cool stuff I'll learn tonight".  Oh yeah, I'm sore and in a little pain right now, but it was worth it.  Learning how to counter a guillotine neck hold was incredible.  And the practice of throwing punches and kicks while having to block them truly kicked ass.  Plus, I have yet to encounter anyone with an ego, and that includes the instructor.  The guys who have trained for a while are very helpful with tips and really want to help out.  One of my knees is a little swollen right now, my knuckles feel like hamburger, but I wouldn't trade these classes for anything.

Alrighty...more later this weekend.  I just say that a new trailer came out for the movie "300" so I'm going to watch it repeatedly.  This movie looks like it could be the greatest movie of all time...no joke.  I can't wait to see it next week.  Oh, and I saw a new trailer for "Resident Evil 3: Extinction" today starring my favorite babe zombie killer - Mila Jovovich.  It looks good so far...but we'll see.
