I swear, I will never understand anyone. Do you sometimes feel like you're one of the chosen few who actually "gets it"? Not to elevate myself, because I know a lot of people actually get it, but when I listen to the news I think the collective IQ of this planet is plummeting drastically. I was reading a news website earlier today during a break at work and see some links to stories of the latest executions in Iraq. Some half-brother of Hussein was executed along with an aide. Now, what I couldn't believe was that the story was going on and on about his half-brother's head popping off during the hanging and how people were outraged over the disrespect. Yeah, he was shown disrespect. This was also the same guy who the article said used to throw people into meat-grinders...yet he was DISRESPECTED??? Does this not show just how screwed up that part of the world is? Just due to some differences in their Muslim religion of peace, one group feels bad for a maggot who threw people into a meat-grinder. Yes, even my faith has some nut-jobs who think shooting a doctor at an abortion clinic is ok, but those events and people are in such a minority compared to the radicals in the middle east. This is exactly why I wanted Operation Glass Parking Lot on 9/12/2001. If you don't know, sand turns to glass when enough heat is present...heat that could be provided by nuclear weapons. Why not? I guess it's easier to send soldiers over there to fight with one hand behind their backs. It's like Patton said about war - "There is one tactical principal which is not subject to change. It is to use the means at hand to inflict the maximum amount of wounds, death and destruction on the enemy in the minimum amount of time." Screw how Germany, Russia, France or whoever else views us. And now more troops are going to be sent. You know, from day one I have supported this military action, but I honestly have to admit my patience is running out due to frustration. I'm not over there, so it's very easy for me to say what I'm saying in the comfort of my own home. But why in the heck would we not unleash our military on the enemy??? This war in the middle east could have been over in days...but because our "leaders" seem to actually give a crap what some other country thinks about our security, our "leaders" are trying to fight a politically correct war. Do like we did to Germany and Japan - bomb them into submission and THEN help rebuild if we care to do so. To paraphrase Barry Goldwater, I have more concern and respect for ONE American soldier than any other country. Wait, back to the topic. So yeah, people got offended by some scumbag who threw people into a meat-grinder because a noose may have snapped his neck. I say "good riddance".
Next up was a documentary I watched when I got home from work. Now I knew this was going to tick me off, but I viewed "Border War" tonight which infuriated me. As if you can't tell, it's a documentary about illegal immigrants. One thing it showed, and it was about time someone showed this, was a rally in California where anti-illegal immigrant people were protesting a bill being debated in California for in-state tuition for illegals. On the other side were the illegals screaming about they have a right to be here, this land was stolen from them and blah blah blah. But alongside that group were actual communist groups. Huh, imagine that. Communists and illegals marching side by side...what do you think about that. It shouldn't surprise anyone since both groups are hell-bent on destroying this country. Oh, and there was plenty of "they just want to provide for their family and have a better life" rhetoric. You know, I bet a lot of people who rob banks and convenience stores want a better life as well...BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE IT OK!!!! I got my W-2 last week, and when I looked at how much I have withheld in taxes, I could scream. See, it used to be that you sent your tax money into the government and it wasn't deducted from your pay. Well thanks to FDR and all his money-eating programs started in the 1930's that actually PROLONGED the Great Depression (more on that another time), it started being deducted from paychecks. Why? Imagine if no money was deducted from your paycheck, and then at the end of the year you had to send money to the government for taxes. If your taxes started going up, wouldn't it be a wee bit more noticeable? I think so. Well FDR decided to start deducting a little bit each week from your paycheck so a slight increase wouldn't be as noticeable...and it hasn't changed. I did the math, and basically I will be working this year until the middle of March until I actually start making money. In the meantime all the hours I put in at work are going to pay for all the lazy bums who don't want to work, the free healthcare illegals get, all of it. Yep, two more months until I actually get money for myself. It's insanity. Anyway, this documentary featured people who have had a family member killed by some cockroach who shouldn't be here anyway and MAN did it piss me off. I'm waiting for the day where someone files a lawsuit against our government for a wrongful death suit. I really wish it would happen.
Well after the documentary was over, I was channel surfing and stopped on Fox News because some scraggly old guy was yelling so I needed to see what it was. The show was "Hannity and Colmes" and the topic was that there is some new movie coming out where child star Dakota Fanning gets raped in the movie. Can you believe this? Now, let me say that I know I watch a lot of horror movies, but even I have my limits. Two things that absolutely disgust me in movies are scenes of rape and torture, unless the torture is done to someone that deserves it like a kidnapper who is being questioned where the kid is at...stuff like that. And one thing I can't watch are scenes of concentration camps. I was traumatized as a kid watching some documentary of the Nazi concentration camps with scenes of bulldozers pushing these skeleton-like bodies into mass graves. I still have yet to see "Schindler's List", and doubt I will ever watch it. I still skip over the episode of "Band of Brothers" where they liberate a camp because I have such a hard time watching it. But anyway, so I caught this bit on TV and could not BELIEVE that some UCLA film school professor was actually DEFENDING this movie. Why in the hell do we need to see a movie where a child is raped? I know I watch a lot of stuff where zombies eat people and Leatherface takes a chainsaw to someone, but I don't see news headlines every day of some guy wearing a skinsuit while hacking people up or zombies ripping the guts out of someone. I do see child molesters and pedophiles in the news all the time, and I honestly support the death sentence for these sickos. And you know what? The sickening part to me is not just the fact some guy would actually defend this, but the fact that Dakota Fanning's parents were ok with her doing a scene like that. I think she's an amazing actress...she really is. Every thing I've seen her in, she does an incredible job, but I know this is one movie I will skip. I swear, a mainstream movie with a big name is going to come out where a child is raped. What the hell is going on?
Ok, I'm going to go play some of my immature
videogames and pretend for a little while that people aren't as ignorant
and screwed up as I'm thinking they are...hahaha.
