The Gig and Other Stuff
Fist off, I gotta say I can't BELIEVE my beloved Atlanta Falcons are 3-0. This is surreal. Granted, this week's win wasn't the prettiest thing in the world, but it's a win nonetheless. Michael Vick probably played his worst game ever, but towards the end when they needed a big play he took off for like a 50+ yard run which cemented the game. The ATL defense was amazing and every one of those guys deserve the game ball. My boy Patrick Kerney with 3 sacks, Rod Coleman with a fumble, and Brady Smith...the unsung hero of the bunch coming up with a big play yet again. Man I love this team.
Alright, let's get down to business. A little change this week...no political talk until I get to my bumblehead of the week award. So have you even wanted to know what it's like to be a rock star in the making? Allow me to share this with you. My band NoiseCult (that you can learn more about at www.noisecult.com) played a gig this weekend at a place called Gentelman Jim's. Now I am not one to complain or bitch about the venue, because I just really want to play regardless of where it's at. What was funny was this place had no stage. Yep, we were alloted a section of floor to set up and play. At first I thought it would be weird, but it was actually alright. The individual who was known as The Captain at the now-defunct totalnonstop.com made the trek with me back to our old stomping grounds of Murfreesboro, TN....the home of MTSU. This is no small school anymore, I think enrollment is at like 25,000 now and the football team is now a Division I team. I graduated from there back in 1994, and me and Jason (The Captain) took a drive through the area looking at all the changes. This of course resulted in us taking a trip down memory lane thinking back to the times of "remember when...", so the experience of being back there was kinda weird. For those who don't know, Murfreesboro is about 20 minutes south of Nashville...not really out of the way...but I have no need to go there so it was kinda weird being back in a place I lived for
