COMRADE! You have many questions! But you forget that it is
WE who ask the questions here, and who provide the answers as well. If
that is not to your liking, perhaps you would like to spend some time in
Siberia.
Q
What
is this "Skull & Bones"? And why is it so dangerous?
A
Have
you not been paying attention? SKULL & BONES is a "graphical novel"
or "comic book" that was written and illustrated by the master
propagandist Edward Hannigan. It portrays a disgruntled Soviet commando
who defects to the enemy in Afghanistan and comes back to Moscow to wage
war against the State.
Q
But
surely there were many such deserters...
A
NO!
That is Western propaganda! Those are the kind of lies which were spread
by this Hannigan's work and which lead to the USSR's downfall!
Q
Sorry,
Comrade. So this SKULL & BONES, that seems a strange name for a
hero, even in the decadent world of American comic books.
A
That
is not the name of the character; it is the name of a secret elite of
terrorists and assassins which were deployed against the civilian
population in the Afghan War. This secret cadre is the product of
Hannigan's fevered imagination, and the KGB is investigating to find out
how he uncovered it.
Q
That
is the plot of the book then, deserter fights against the State? Surely
such a weak premise could not be the cause of the fall of a mighty
empire!
A
Hardly! There is much more to the story. The bizarrely garbed skeleton
soldier meets an old friend, "Elektrik Feliks" who informs him of a plot
by his former commander to use a secret biological weapon to annihilate
the world population!
Here is an early drawing by Hannigan which he used to sell the
"concept" of Skull & Bones to unsuspecting sheep at DC Comics.

Q
Why would anyone do
that?
A
Because, comrade, that same commander, Sergei Kozakhov, also plotted to
force the scientist who developed the weapon to produce an antidote,
which he and a hand picked group of "Pure Russians" would use to survive
the devastation and inherit the world!
Q
Kozakhov! Wasn't he...
A
Da!
The wily Hannigan used the names of real persons in his libel. Even
Politburo members and State ministers! Indeed, the existence of such a
plot has been strenuously denied by the KGB!
Q
So
where does "Skull & Bones" come into this?
A
Remember, that is not the name of the character! The "hero" in the
skeleton costume, Andrian Linov and his confederates manage to steal a
top secret flying vehicle and use it to find the gulag where the creator
of the virus is being held. After many twists and turns they foil
Kozakhov's plan! After this action, the infamous coup is staged and the
Soviet Union is dissolved. Hannigan has woven his fantasy in with real
life events to produce an insidious work of propaganda!
Q
That
sounds fascinating. Where can one obtain this "graphical novel" -- for
further research purposes, of course!
A
Of
course! It is very difficult to obtain, due to the diligent efforts of
the KGB! You might find it in the back store room of a comic shop, but
that is doubtful. This is the reason we are so determined to prevent its
re-publication or, even worse, its adaptation into movie or television
form! We have learned that the rights to this work have reverted to
Hannigan from the original publisher, DC Comics, and that he now strives
tirelessly to have the slander spewed forth anew!
