Gretchin are a smaller orkoid race subservient to the orks. They
tend to pave the way for the orks and perform menial tasks. Though not stupid
their size (3 to 4 feet tall) and their lack of strength allows them to get
pushed around. They actually are quite capable riggers and mekboy aids –
arguable less stupid than the orks who rule them.
Size: Small. Gretchin gain a +1 on their
attack rolls and +1 to their Defense. They suffer a -4 size penalty on Grapple
checks and gain a +4 size bonus on Hide checks.
Ability Score Adjustments: -4 Strength, +4 Dexterity, -2
Constition, -2 Wisdom.
Skill Adjustments: None
Starting Feats: 2
Bonus Skills: +2 bonus on Move Silently and Climb checks.
Both of these skills always count as class skills. A Gretchin is both sneaky
and a good at getting around a big world.
Special: Worthless fighter: -2 penalty to base
attack bonus. Grots just aren’t meant to fight. Clear Mine Field: Grots are
often employed to clear mine fields so they become especially good at avoid the
bad spots and disbaling traps. +4 spot but only regarding traps and +4 disable
device but only regarding traps.
Level Adjustment: +0, a Gretchin can be played in a
fairly balanced ork party.
