ASSASSIN

This section describes the Assassin prestige class. The fastest way to get to this class is through the Infiltrator and Soldier advanced classes. Assassins can be found among all the species of the gothic millenium. The Imperial Assassins trained within the sanctums of the Officio Assassinorum, the Dark Eldar mandrakes and the Ork Kommandos might all at high levels take the assassin prestige class. Taking this prestige class indicates a knowledge of stealth and death beyond that of mere mortal ken. The way of the assassin is the way of darkness. You kill before you are seen and you disappear before you are heard. You are a whisper, a shadow and a knife in the dark.

CLASS FEATURES

The following class features pertain to the Assassin prestige class.

Sneak Attack

If an assassin attacks a flat-footed opponent with a melee weapon (or a ranged weapon within 30 feet) then he adds a bonus to damage of Xd6 where X is the character’s assassin level.

Undetectable

The assassin adds his assassin level as a bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks.

Flank

The assassin can make a sneak attack any time he flanks an opponent with an ally even if that opponent is not caught flat-footed.

Hide in Plain Sight

The assassin can make a hide check even while being observed. As long as he is within 10 feet of a column, doorway, large piece of furniture or even a particularly dark corner, the Assassin can attempt to hide himself from view in the open without anything to actually hide behind. The assassin just simply seems to disappear.

Death Attack

By spending an action point, in a circumstance that the Assassin could ordinarily use a sneak attack, the assassin can declare he is using a Death Attack. The death attack counts as a coup de grace, even if the target is not helpless. The Assassin does not add sneak attack damage, instead he deals an automatic critical as per a normal coup de grace. If the target fails the coup fortitude save then he is killed outright.
