So who is this chick and why is she stalking Joss Whedon?

Where to start?

Well, in Fall, 2002, Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, two television shows that I had enjoyed, came out with a show described as a "Space Western." I was intrigued enough to check it out.

Honestly, the first few episodes shown were kind of ragged, but it was good enough to postpone any Friday night going-out-ness. Plus, the actors were hot. And I belonged to a message board that took great delight in disecting each episode as it aired. And then, the show started gelling. Plots became better, story arcs were introduced, hints were dropped.

I got hooked.

And then I got kicked in the gut.

Eleven episodes in, it was cancelled. Fox Network deigned to show the pilot, finally (at the end of the run?), and that was it. No more Firefly. My first honest-to-God television obsession (which I freely admit was/is an obsession) was gone.

I had read fanfiction for other television shows before, but had never taken much effort to find it. With the sudden dearth of new Firefly, however, I was at a loss. So much so, that I felt the need to fill in some of the holes. My first awkward attempts are on this site. Laugh if you want, I do. Hey, I really hadn't done any serious writing for ten years, not since I went to grad school. I'm amazed that I could still string together coherent sentences.

Yeah, yeah, what about this "slash" stuff?

Have you seen the guys on this show? Seriously.

Scorching hot. Tons of chemistry. Lots of touching. What's not to see?

Oh, you mean the whole "straight women writing gay porn" thing? I have no clue. But other people have expressed their fascination and confusion more eloquently than I. (links to be added shortly!)

Besides, porn is much easier to write than plot.

Not sick of me yet?

You can check out my LiveJournal. I usually try to post on a daily basis. Or more often. Oh, all right, I'm just as obsessed with LJ as I am with Firefly. It may be a time suck, but it's a lovely, shiny, fun time suck.
