Live at the Paradise

On August 15, 2001 rock station WBCN 104.1 sponsored a concert at Paradise charging only $1.04 for admission to see Adema live. The place was packed with both loyal fans that knew all the words and sang along as well as people who heard about a cheap show and wanted in. Adema brought their shit to Boston that night heightening the intensity level in the club and bringing out the emotions in the room. One half seemed to be entirely caught up in the kick-ass music while the other half was using the music as an excuse to throw people on the ground. Whatever everyone was doing in the room it was all because of the music. Adema has a highly charged sound with a melodic crunch that makes you want to move. With five band members that all seemed talented the group shows a lot of promise and will surely blow up in the coming months.

The growing popularity and recognition of Adema is all well deserved and in my opinion is not solely due to the relationship that lead singer Mark Chavez has with Korns Jonathan Davis which is discussed whenever Adema is mentioned including now in this article. Chavez and Davis are half-brothers and are both musically talented in their own lives. Some people disregard the success of Adema as a handout from Chavezs older brother, but they are a seriously tight band that is rich in entertainment and musical ingenuity and wouldn't be where they are today without talent. In the last year many major labels were in the bidding for Adema, but Arista Records came out as the victor. They have since gotten some great gigs, created a full-length album and made a video for their first single named "Giving In".

Adema played a full set that seemed to rock the crowds asses. I couldn't help but notice the huge line in front of the merchandise counter that I had to walk through to get out after the show. While their fan base is growing and their music is getting stronger, stardom may be closer than they think. Take these guys seriously and buy their record. They have been seen on Craig Kilborn on August 20, 2001. For more information: www.ademaonline.com
