He is an own son of SKIP AWAY, a Horse of the Year and winner of $9,616,360 on the track. Skip Away also had a record of 38-18-10-6, including wins in the Breeder's Cup Classic and Jockey Club Gold Cup. His dam, SHARP CAT, by Storm Cat, was a multiple GI winner, including the Acorn Stakes and Santa Anita Oaks. She earned over $2,000,000 on the track. Storm's Away is a typical Thoroughbred stallion, with more than a bit of an additude, plus a lot of fire in his step. He remains controlable, unlike some stallions, but he still likes to test you! He has been off the track for a few years, but he still seems to miss it; he loves to watch the younger horses being worked. He is not bored, however, he has begging re-trained as a English horse, which he seems to enjoy. We have been Told Away didn't come into his own as a racehorse until his three-year-old season. Then he began to show the SIM world what he was made of. He won the Risen Star (GIII), San Felipe (GII), Santa Anita Derby (GI), Kentucky Derby (GI) and Travers Stakes (GI) as a three-year-old, not to mention running second in the Preakness and Belmont Stakes (both GI). He ran to a nice record of 9-5-3-1. Then as a four-year-old, he continued his winning, taking the Breeder's Cup Classic, just like his sire. He ran to a record of 4-3-0-1. He was almost a superhorse during his racing days, winning Overall Racer of the Year, 3 yo of the Year and Thoroughbred of the Year. He has done quite well as a sire, he throws wonderful foals, several Graded Stakes winners have been sired by him. His foals are all still relatively young, his oldest foal crop is only four, but they have all been quite successful. He passes on his incredible endurance and drive to all his foals, none of them has ever been outrun because they didn't have the depth! We would like thank Hannah for giving us this opportunity to purchase such a fine thoroughbred.
