Our Emblem
With current progeny earnings of over $4.6 million, Our Emblem has sired five 2002 stakes winners, including Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Haskell Invitational Handicap winner, War Emblem.
Our Emblems pedigree is impeccable. He is the son of Sire of Sires Mr. Prospector, sire of 177 Stakes Winners, 15 Champions, 44 Grade 1 Winners and 106 Graded Stakes Winners. Mr. Prospectors sons include Fappiano, Seeking the Gold, Gone West, Forty Niner, Woodman and Gulch. His progeny earnings on the racetrack are currently approaching an astounding $100 Million.
The maternal side of Our Emblems heritage is no less impressive. He is out of Champion Personal Ensign, the undefeated Breeders Cup Winner and Broodmare of the Year. She herself is out of Broodmare of the Year, Grecian Banner. Personal Ensign is the dam of 3 Grade 1 Winners including multiple Grade 1 Winner, My Flag, winner of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). Were it not for a nose defeat in the Grade 1 Carter Handicap, Our Emblem would have been the fourth Grade 1 Winner for Personal Ensign.
On the racetrack Our Emblem showed himself to be a premium example of speed, class and soundness. He ran 6 furlongs over the Belmont dirt in 1:08.4 winning by 7 lengths. He bested his own time of 1:21.4 over 7 furlongs at Gulfstream Park by running 1:21.2 in the Grade 1 Carter Handicap. Our Emblem also placed in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes and the Grade 1 Metropolitan as well as the Tom Fool (G2), the Forego (G2), the Commonwealth Breeders Cup Stakes (G2), The Westchester Handicap (G3) and The Gulfstream Park Breeders Cup Sprint Championship Handicap (G3). He retired sound after 27 starts from 2 to 5. Our Emblems performance as a leading sire in 2002 has been nothing short of astonishing. From limited opportunities, with only 35 foals in his first crop, he has sired five 2002 stakes winners, three of which are graded. His stakes winners include Arkansas Derby (G2) winner, Private Emblem, Railbird Stakes (G3) winner, September Secret and Eclipse Champion hopeful, War Emblem (G1).
Mr Prospector
Mr. Prospector (1970-1999) was a thoroughbred racehorse who won half of his 14 career starts, but whose descendants have come to dominate the United States Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing.Mr. Prospector managed to set track records for six furlongs (1,207 m) at Gulfstream Park and Garden State, but his racing record had little inkling of his success as a breeding sire.
One of Mr. P's most remarkable feats was siring one winner of each of the Triple Crown races, a feat his grandson, Unbridled, has also accomplished. His Triple Crown race winners were the 2000 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus, a promising young sire; 1985 Preakness Stakes winner Tank's Prospect; and 1982 Belmont Stakes winner and Horse of the Year, Conquistador Cielo.
Personal Ensign
Champion Personal Ensign, the undefeated Breeders Cup Winner and Broodmare of the Year.
