| The Sex Pistols are one of the greatest punk rock bands of all time. Even though they were created for commercialism. In 1977 they realeased their first album "Nevermind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols." Two songs off of that album made it to number 1 (Anarchy in the U.K. and God Save the Queen). The Sex Pistols were first signed to EMI, who released the Anarchy in the U.K. single. After EMI dropped them, they signed to A&M records. A&M cancelled the contract a week later. They then reluctantly signed to Virgin records. |

| Sid Vicious - Real name John Ritchie. Replaced Glen Matlock at bass guitar. Distinguished by lack of talent, Vicious fit in better than Matlock. Unfortunately, Matlock was the one who had the talent at writing songs. On October 11, 1978, nine months after the demise of the Sex Pistols, Vicious was arrested for the murder of Nancy Spungen, his then girlfriend. He was bailed out of jail by manager Malcolm McLaren. A few months later he died of a heroine overdose. | |||||||
