| The Ramones are often touted as the original punk rock band. Not that this has much to do with anything, but the Ramones were placed 7th on MSNBC's 10 best rock bands ever. Bands such as the New York Dolls came before them and set up the sound, bands such as the Sex Pistols followed and made the sound angrier and more violent. But the Ramones crystallized the sound in between the two. | ||||||||
