Tifa Lockheart - Tifa Lockheart is Cloud's best childhood companion and grew up with him. Her weapon is a glove that she punches people with. Though Tifa has very strong feelings for Cloud, she will never admit it.
Barret Wallace - Barret is a tough man who's wife died several years ago. He raises his daughter on his own with a little help from Tifa (No, they're not married or anything). Barret had an accident as a teen and his arm was lost and replaced with a gun-arm. The gun arm that he has became his new weapon. He is always ready to fight, but he is a loyal friend.
Aeris Gainsborough - Aeris is a kind-hearted woman who meets up with Cloud on the streets of Midgar while selling flowers. She posseses the materia called Holy and uses it to try and stop the evil Sephiroth from destroying their world. While making the prayer to save the world she... well, you'll have to play the game to find out. Aeris's weapon is a staff but she mainly uses her magic and materia to fight.
Sephiroth - Sephiroth is the antagonist of Final Fantasy VII. Sephiroth wields a large sword along with a lot of brutal materia. He wants to destroy the world and he plans on using the materia, Meteor to send a meteor into the world.
Cid Highwind - Cid is a trash-talking man who is always waiting for a fight. He is a retired space pilot who's dreams were shattered when his rocket did not go to the moon. Cid uses a spear to fight his enemies and is out to get anyone in his way.
Red XII - Red XII is not actually this characters name, but you will have to play the game to find out what it is. Red XII is a... well, he's kind of a dog. He is very intelectual and very powerful. Not much is known about him but it is known that he was raised in Cosmo Canyon. His weapon his a headress (what is that?) and he has had horrible experiences with Shinra Inc.
Cait Sith - Cait Sith is a cat riding on a giant stuffed Moogle. It isn't very trustworthy at first, though in the end it gets along with the group perfectly. Cait Sith uses a megaphone as it's weapon and it is very strong in battle.
Yuffie Kisaragi - Yuffie is a young woman born to be a ninja. She is a materia hunter but finds a soft side of herself and decides to help out Cloud and his group. Yuffie was born in the small town of Wutai and uses a boomerang as her weapon. She is stubborn and self-centered, and she also dislikes her father very much.
Vincent Valentine - Vincent is, as I like to call him, dark and tormented. He was frozen in time after being charged with harming his loved one. He has a bad past with Shinra and joins up with Cloud and the group to defeat them. Vincent wields a gun as his weapon and has one of the strangest limit breaks of all of the characters.
