How To Protect Yourself 101

This is the Basics of Protecting yourself from attacks
if you ever get massed by a lot of people then you will most likely be very hurt.
What you need to do to stop these damages is:
Sell most of your D.A (Defence Action) and buy S.A (Strike Action)
But one of the most important things to do is to Retrain your soldiers.

It may cost a bit but will save you thousands in Costly Repairs.

If you do not have enough money for this here's what ya do.

Attack some one That you know that you can steal money off,
You may have to attack A lot of ppls to get your desired amount of gold,
If you know that you have enough gold untrain your D.A Soldiers
And retrain them in S.A

You may Experience a Fall in Rank But Hey! You wont be losing as many troops!
Which means that you will be losing a lot less T.B.G (Turn Based Gold)

but one of the downsides is that you will experience More Casualties when going S.A If you farm ppls for money.

Morpheous

I didn't see this anywhere else on the forums, so I decided to post it for those who don't know.

All Siege Tech upgrades give 33.3% 33.4% (depending on which way it rounds) and all Fortifications give 25%. The total cost of upgrading all Siege Tech equals 163,800,000 gold, as opposed to the total cost of upgrading Fortifications equals 2,621,400,000 gold.... Depressing isn't it?

Hope this helps!

This is a tool that was created by Ali3nhunter. He asked me a few days ago to upload it for him, and after trying it out how could I disagree!? This tool is incredible. It calculates Fortifications and Siege Technology Information!

Meaning that it tells you for each Fortification/Siege Tech Level, how many Dragonskins/Excaliburs you should have before selling, and then how many to sell.

Get the tool here: http://65.33.67.58/OmegaSt0rm/UpgradeTool.htm

I know that's a long URL, but I'll get a shorter URL for my servers soon. And if anyone knows Ali3nhunter's link, since I forgot to ask him for it, post it here! We all owe him a click for his hard work.

Post any comments/questions here, for myself or Ali3nhunter to answer!

thx for posting it OmegaSt0rm

Questions or problems about the upgrade master tool may be posted here.

I will answer them ASAP
What OmegaSt0rm forgot to mention was that the amount of soldiers + the desired upgrade can be saved using the menus of the tool. So you won't have to type in your info over and over just update it when necessary (also saved options will be automatically loaded when you start the program)

Ow the .NET framework is only a 1-time install so you don't need to install it for every update.
That's just what's needed for you pc to understand the commands
it might be useful if you buy programs or download trials written in a language of the Microsoft Visual Studio.NET version

How to not lose casualties... Well if you're a defensive player who never attacks it's incredibly easy to limit your casualties to almost nothing =).

First, in the age 3 formulas, it's SUPPOSED to be that you can only lose 1% of your army in a battle, and that in order for a player to inflict casualties they must strike with 1% of your damage.

So, if you're a defensive player you can almost limit your casualties to nothing! I used to lose hundreds of soldiers per attack on me, which broke through, but now I barely lose 10!

The key is, reduce the number of soldiers participating in the battle! Most players have hundreds and thousands of untrained soldiers, however they participate in the battle. The best strategy is, train ALL soldiers except those needed to hold defense weapons to attack. Then, when you're attacked, lets say you have 200 trained defense and 100 defense mercs, you will only lose like 3 casualties per attack max!

It works for me, and has proved to protect against mass attacks. Relentless mass attacked me a few days ago, and I lost no more than 100 soldiers! When orc00 attacked me he lost 150 I lost 10!

Once you've trained your soldiers, you probably want to buy some mercs anyway for defensive click troop coverage. Always buy trained mercs. They can hold weapons, die less quickly, and add more to your SA/DA =).

HOWEVER do not use this strategy if you attack often, because if you train all your troops to attack and attack, your casualties are HIGH. If you are a player who attacks, then your best bet is to probably train 1/2 of your soldiers to attack, and 1/2 to defense. Cutting both side's casualties in 1/2, (compared to if you left them ALL untrained.)

Hope this helps!

How to bank gold.

Couple rules to start with
1) If you have gold people WILL take it.
2) If you have gold AND good defenses people will destroy your armor AND take your gold.
3) Don't "save" gold, people will see it and... See rules 1 and 2

Ok, now that's clear. Lets work on how you CAN save gold, but don't actually have gold. Good economics of this game is to put your gold into upgrades, because they cannot be sabotaged. But how do you do that when your next upgrade is more gold than you should be showing the world? Simple, buy weapons and armor. Then sell the weapons and armor when you have enough for your upgrade. All weapons and armor each kind from a knife to a dragonskin all return 75% of their value if in good condition. I'm no math whiz but last time I checked being able to spend 75% of your gold is a whole lot better than trying to spend 0% of your gold that got stolen. Make it a point NOT to have gold, and you won't be attacked, and you keep your 75%. If you are not around a computer all day... most aren't, and can't spend your gold every 1/2 hour, then buy weapons, not armor, weapons. If your army can take casualties (100 soldiers or more) then buy a few general mercs to pad casualties of your click troops. Most people that attack are just after your gold, if they can't get your gold because of your armor they will sabotage your armor to get to your gold. Its better to have a little armor, just enough to protect from casualties, and let them take the gold. Your real gold is in your weapons. Very rarely will someone waste attack turns on sabotage your weapons too.

Taken from LS's original Covert Ops 101 Post:

Recon Immunity: You can be immune from recons! To achieve recon immunity look below.

130 spies at Level 10
260 spies at Level 9 <------- Try to get this one
520 spies at Level 8
1040 spies at Level 7
Etc...

Recon Immunity For Elves:

104 spies at Level 10
208 spies at Level 9 <--------- Try to get this one
426 spies at Level 8
832 spies at Level 7

If I got those wrong, feel free to correct me. If you're wondering where I got those numbers from, in order to be recon immunity you must attain a CA of 133,000. Well a human, dwarf, or orc spy at level 10 contributes 1024 points to your CA. An Elf spy contributes 1280 points to your CA because of the +25% bonus. And for each spy level down, the requirements double as the spies contribute half of what they used to. So my numbers should be correct.

Work on the Spy Level 9 goal, as that's usually the easiest way to attain Recon Immunity.

Guidelines to spying:

1) Never get caught on a sabotage mission!
2) If your mission fails, you WILL appear in your targets' intelligence logs.
3) Spy level only increases how many spies you can send in without getting caught, and what weapons your spies are able to sabotage.
4) IF you send too many spies to anyone you will get caught! Even if they have 0 CA! Makes sense, "hmmm gee who are those 25 guys walking single file into the armory?"
5) You CAN get full recon reports. More spies will gather more information, too many spies will get you caught.
6) Use recon to determine how many spies you can get in on sabotage missions. Usually people wont attack you if you fail a recon mission.

This tutorial will teach you how to grow your army size, and allow you to rise in ranks quickly.

TBG: Turn Base Gold. This is the gold you receive every half-hour on each turn.

TBG is all that matters in this game. Why? Gold allows you to be versatile in the game

TBG and race: Humans get a 25% bonus on TBG generating 31.25 gold per soldier every have an hour. The only other race that has a quasi-bonus is Dwarves as they have 25% bonus on defense and allows you to defend your TBG a little more. All other races generate 25 gold per soldiers. Spies do not add to your TBG nor do Mercenaries. These gold generating solders are referred to as Click Troops, or Click Soldiers. 1 click troop will make 1200 gold in 24 hours, 1500 if human.

How to get more soldiers:
You get more soldiers by people clicking your unique KOC link, and when people click your officers' links. For every 2 soldiers your officers as a whole get you get 1 soldier. So it's best to recruit as many officers as you can.

Recruiting Officers:
Recruiting an officer is starts with inviting the person to click on your recruit link, the they need to "Join the War." This will create an account for them with you as their commander.
Once you have recruited all your friends and people you personally know, you can recruit from forums and chats. It's better to find people that are into online games but are not in KOC yet.

You can also recruit new KOC players when they first sign up. As most new players may not know their way around and would welcome a commander. I got many of my officers this way, I gave them instructions on how to defect, and you can find them on the join striker clan post. Many of the players that attacked me I messaged them with some stock replies; about 1 in ten joined me.

Once you have them, get them to register in the Clan Recruiter, and have them click like mad, take in to consideration the auto-away after two hours. You should refer them with your Clan Recruiter referral link. So when they click, it helps keep you active too.

Keeping your TBG:
See Saving Gold 101

Protecting your Soldiers:
Your click troops are the only real asset you have in the game. They are what will make or break your game. Protect your click troops. You do this by buying mercenaries (mercs). Mercenaries die first in battle thus save your click troops. General mercenaries die first, when they are gone, then your trained mercenaries die.

Never attack with only Attack Trained Solders or Untrained Soldiers and no Mercenaries. This is just throwing away gold. For every 1 click troop killed you lose 2400 gold per day, 3000 if human.

It's best to have a small DA and only use mercenaries to hold your armor than to have click troops there that could potentially be lost. Most players will never see a mass attack that will crush defenses to the point of losing all your mercenaries and some of your click troops, so you can still have trained defense soldiers just make sure you always keep mercenaries in front of them. If your mercenaries are dwindling and your click troops re in jeopardy, it better to train them to attack, to preserve them and pray for mercenaries.

Well this is the quick and dirty of it, I know this is a rough copy and I'm sure people will have a lot to add to it. So please comment.

UPDATED: For beta, TBG values. (Half of what Age 2 TBG was)

I just became spy immune and asked TheCyclops in a PM what should be my next goal.

TheCyclops answered me and I thought of it as useful information, so I don't want to hold it back for the other clan members

Quote:
It depends how you play.Let me break it down for you:If you can log on about once an hour an check you KoC (when you're not sleeping), then I think the best strategy is to get a very large army, and rely mostly on TBG as your income. Right now, I make 98,000 gold per turn, just from having a big army. That means that in a day, If I spend all my money just on weapons, I could buy 28 dragonskins (of course, I also buy mercs, train soldiers, so I get less than that in practice). If that is what you are doing, then you don't need to attack very much. I would suggest keeping your SA relatively low (just hight enough that you can hit a few farms every now and then, maybe with 1 or 2 Excalibur/Dragon/Flaming Arrows), and put all your efforts into DA.The result will be that you will quickly have a very high DA, high enough that attempts to farm you over night fail. At the same time, because your SA is very low, your rank will stay low. This is calculated. By having a low rank, you are less of a thread to people with high ranks, so you won't get attacked as much. When your DA is hight enough for your satisfaction (probably 10-15mil) you can start working on your SA. You will find that you go up in rank VERY fast!!!On the other hand, if you don't like to log on very often (or can't), then you want to do the reverse. Rely primarily on SA to obtain your gold. In that case, you want to train all your soldiers as attack specialists, and only have about 50 or so Defence mercs. Don't buy any armor at all. If you have only the 50 mercs on defense, you will never loose a single person when you get attacked (which you will), and since you have no armor, it won't get damaged, so you never need to repair it. Also, because you have very few soldiers on defense, they won't get very much of your gold.At the same time, spend all your money on Dragons/Excal/Flaming arrows and Siege technology upgrades to have a really sickining SA. Then, whenever you log on, the first thing you do is train as many new clicks you got as attack soldiers, and then attack with relatively impunity. Because you focus so much on SA, you will probably be able to steal gold from anyone, even people that are higher ranked than you.Of course, the down side is that your TBG will be stolen a lot. But since you rely on attack gold and not on TBG, you don't care.As far as I see it, those are the 2 best strategies. They both converge at a point, when either your DA in the first case or SA in the second become high enough that you can start raising the other. At that time, your rank will go up very very fast.

Mercenaries are hired soldiers that make up more of your army size. There are 3 types of mercenaries each with specific traits but all add no gold per turn. Mercenaries are available at certain random times throughout the day.

General Mercenary's: These soldiers act just like your untrained soldiers. They attack and defend depending on which ever happens to you first. They also take die first before any other type of Mercenary's. So if you get attacked your General Mercenaries die first. And if you attack they'll die first as well.

Defensive Mercenary's: These Mercenaries give added defense to you. They also get killed first before your gold per turn soldiers.

Offensive Mercenary's: These Mercenaries give added offense to you. They also get killed first before your gold per turn soldiers.

So having Mercenaries is a good investment for big armies or players that don't want there money making soldiers killed. Merc's are only a good investment once you reach the 100+ army size. (Not including spies)

So for example:

I have bought 2 General Merc's and
5 Defensive Merc's
SmellyPoopypants attacks me and kills 2 of my General
Merc's first then he attacks again and kills 2 of my defensive Merc's because the General's ran out.
I still have 3 Defensive merc's left before he starts to dwindle away my Gold Per Turn Making soldiers or GPT.
If I have confused you please respond to let me know and clarify it.

(Thx to WolvesRevenge2 for the idea)

I'm making this thread to help players decide which race they would like to choose. I'm typing this to reflect age's 2+3, since they are relatively similar, and since Sabotage may return.

Races: There are four Kings of Chaos races available for choosing. Humans, Dwarfs, Orcs, and Elves.

Each race has specific advantages which affect the possible gameplay strategies heavily.

Humans - Humans receive 25% more income, and are held by many as the best Kings of Chaos race. I myself am human and agree with this. You see, humans receive more TBG, (Turn Based Gold) then everyone else. For every other race, they receive 28 gold per soldier, however humans receive 35. Although this might not seem like a large bonus, when your army grows it proves to be an incredibly large bonus. In Kings of Chaos, money equals power, and more money is the advantage of humans.

Example: (THIS EXAMPLE WAS FROM A POINT IN AGE 2. Using age 2 gold benefits. The example still holds though, just 1/2 they're TBG that they make, and use the same TBG formula.)

Take for example LordStriker and Orc00. At one point in time, LordStriker had 135,770 humans, and Orc00 had 150,134. Most people would think that Orc00 would receive more TBG, because of his 15,000 troop lead, however the 15,000 troop difference doesn't matter....

Take a look at this...
Formula to calculate TBG

A*T=X

X= TBG Per hour
A= Army Size
T= TBG per soldier, (50 for every other race other than human, and 62.5 for humans.)

So for LS that formula would equal...

136,074 * 62.5 = 8,504,625

Compared to Orc00

150,444 * 50 = 7,522,200

(Those TBG values are age 2 values, as is this example!)

So as you can see, even though LS has 14,000 less soldiers in his army, he makes almost 1 million more TBG. Imagine how much more LS would make if him and orc00 had the same amount of soldiers... That is why I choose humans, because the extra money can be used to power up any of the other bonuses, (Covert, Offensive, and Defensive.)

Plus, now that TBG is halved more TBG is EVEN MORE important.

All right so I'll shut up about humans and stop being bias. Time to move on.

Orcs - Orcs receive a 25% more Offensive bonus. Basically their attack strength grows 25% faster than that of the other races. Each weapon in the orc army provides 25% more attack power than the other races counterparts. (Providing that they all have equal upgrades and all.) The orc bonus is very useful in the beginning, as it helps to gain early gold when your army is small. However as time progresses, the orc bonus slowly becomes less useful compared to that of the dwarf and human bonuses. However if you want to be a small player with a low TBG and defense, but a STRONG attack, then orcs are for you.

Dwarfs - Dwarfs receive a 25% more Defensive bonus. Other than humans, they are the other race which I would choose. One of the main ways to succeed in Kings of Chaos is by relying on your TBG. Humans provide more TBG, while dwarfs can provide the defensive power to guard that TBG. Dwarfs are great for the players who wish to not attack much, but instead grow with incredible speeds and live off their own income.

Elves - Elves receive a 25% more Covert bonus. Although held by many players to be the worst race, they do have their advantages. For one, Attaining sabotage immunity is easiest with the eleven race, as is sabotaging enemy weapons. However once you reach immunity as well as the high ranks, the bonus becomes slightly more useless, as most of the players around your rank have already attained sabotage immunity. (In age 3 if sabotage doesn't return then Elves are pointless once you reach Recon Immunity.)

Well there you have it! The four Kings of Chaos races explained and covered! Although I'm sorry I was bias towards humans, I hope I got the main points across and the advantages/disadvantages of the races across as well, that was the post of this post. If anyone has anything to add to this post, or any suggestions, please post away! This is just supposed to be an informal post to help new players select a race to choose, which is a matter of opinion.

There is a bug in the game that allows you to get free repairs on your weapons. Rather than spend all that money repairing, just buy more weapons one at a time. Why? The strength of the weapons is determined by the average strength of all the weapons, rounded up. SO when you buy a knife at full strength, it adds a fraction of a point to the average strength of your knives and the result is rounded up. Same goes for any weapon or armor.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, this bug is in the game. But the admins seem to keep it there by choice because if fixed it would give too much power to a small players attacking larger players. They will probably correct this in Age 3, but along with correcting the bug that make mass attacks possible too. IE 1 soldier against 10,000 soldiers shouldn't do damage.

Anywho. Its better money management to buy one item at a time rather than repairing them. Especially when your item count exceeds the repair value.

Example: I have about 50,000 skins. If I repaired them using the repair button it would cost 4.2m per point. Yet I can repair 1 point for only 168k by buying a new skin.

Oh, and NEVER sab check. It's just a waste of gold. If you sab check and their are items that are sabbed they are destroyed anyways. Its better to lose them in battle then to pay to know they're gone.
