Gender Reversal

Men becoming feminised - how to dress like a girl, part 1;
Look at the portrayal of men in the media today. What the hell do they look like!? Fucking woman that's what. Any image of a man is more than likely to include fashionably died jeans, designer brands, tight tops and some remarkably homosexual kind of hair style (not stereotyping homosexuals or anything..!) Behind the models carefully preened hair he's just some nancy boy they picked up off the streets or from a reality TV show. He's what I call a pretty boy, and as far as I'm concerned the media has no need for males who purposely dress as women (unless they're transexuals which is a different matter).

Fashion has turned men equally as paranoid about their dress sense as it has to women, which proves my point - these men must be women. It is ironic though, how the portrayal of the perfect male is that he is fashion conscious yet works out in the gym so much that his muscles are unnaturally large. The final product is a girly beefcake, a disgustingly wrong hybrid of attention to detail and confused thoughts on the meaning of masculinity.

On the other hand, those men who are anti-fashion - often the football loving beer louts. Have to follow a pre-prescribed lifestyle of 'masculinity'. This is often based on males biological superiority to women. It indulges in loutish behaviour based on an uneducated biased opinion and an over-enthusiastic interest in one particular hobby.

Men have also become very passive. My mum is always telling me how men in "her day" would woo a woman, make all the effort in pulling her and then treat her like a proper lady, and this is what both the sexes would expect. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all up for equality of the sexes, but I think the effort put in now by males is pathetically low. If a woman wants a bloke she has to make the effort to get him. If the male is not so passive and likes to do all the work it is put in a very sexualised and crude manner, treating the female as though she is of lower authority to him. This manner assumes that all women want their stance in life to be put down to a mere piece of dirt that he can walk all over.

The whole image spoon fed to us by the media makes me want to throw up. Shopping, the Internet, even food is sold in a sexual context, where human=meat. There are even certain adverts I can't bring myself to watch anymore and find myself lunging across the room for the door. In this circumstance I believe it is wrong to feminise males, there is a happy medium in which a male can be in touch with his feminine side and retain his masculinity, but I believe this must be found in individuality.

Women becoming masculinised - dress like a slut - become empowered, part 1;
Dominant is the prime word here. Women have it drilled into them at an early age that a large portion of their life will be spent being seen as an inferior being, but superior in beauty. Women abuse this knowledge to get themselves further in life. Taking over the role of dominating the other sex, this has been excepted and increases day by day, easy - seeing as our culture thrives off sexuality.

It's not quite the same as feminised males, but follows a similar kind of logic. Women can't become very masculinised due to biology. ("Penis Envy" apparently - but who was Freud to comment on this in all his anti-woman work) There is still a lot of traits women take up because gender has changed, women are more equal, so it's ok for women to control . Though this may be the case it is still drilled into women by the media that they must follow the ideologies to be the perfect woman. On personal thought; I believe it is down to the older generations still existing within the media, old patriarchs who still believe women should be controlled. This may be the case but only time will tell. But overall women are made into sex objects, to be desired and aspired to be so attracts attention from both sexes.

The imagery around women in the media is to make females look cheap which is what is now considered as 'beautiful'. Beauty now is only reached after hundreds is spent on make up, hairstyles, plastic nails, fake tans and designer clothes for each season. This can be approached in many ways but seems to have the same result but can be tailored to attract all kinds of personalities. By this I mean different forms of advertising, i.e. an up front and very sexualised method for the younger/lower classed females, and a subtle and more respectful method for the older/higher classed females. But all resulting in a fake, pre-prescribed vision of beauty which can be bought and make anyone look gorgeous.

It's insane how they advertise beauty products. Read the small print on the "Skin toning" creams, and "Anti-aging" creams.. they clearly state that what they're advertising was a result of testing a very meager amount of women, in one circumstance it tested a mere 28 women. These women were probably paid to say the product was effective, that or they're just really fucking stupid.. or more likely to be down to how the psychology of each experiment was held.

All a load of bullshit of course, yet women fall for it like they do for those pretty boys I hate oh so much. What women seem to forget is that we ultimately control the sexual urges of males. So rather than worrying what he thinks of you, you should think "fuck it all", women are empowered by biology - they don't need material to make themselves wanted, and they certainly don't need to cause anxieties amongst the sex by constanty striving for 'perfection'.

Conclusion:
This is the simplest way to explain what I mean, you don't have to be a mathematician to understand it either..

MEDIA PRAYS ON ANXIETIES ---> MEDIA CREATE PRODUCT ---> MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT (sorry, "beautiful")

= BEAUTY = SUPPOSED HAPPINESS (..then)

MEDIA CHANGES IMAGE OF WHAT'S BEAUTIFUL ---> CREATES NEW PRODUCT ---> YOU BUY IT BECAUSE OF UNDERLYING ANXIETIES

= BECOME BEAUTIFUL FOR ANOTHER FEW WEEKS.. (..repeat infinately)

= YOU DIE AN UNHAPPY PERSON BECAUSE YOU NEVER EXCEPT YOUR IMPERFECTIONS
