| DISCOVERY!! Mike Brolin has found a truely unique machine. A 1972 Massey Ferguson Special 500sst. He e-mailed a few shots for us to see, and the real news is: THIS IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE VERY FIRST '72 PRODUCTION MACHINE!! Mike writes that the serial number of this machine is 1647-600-001 This would make it the very first '72 Special. Massey cataloged the Special in '71 but the parts book I have does not list the numbering series. Check it out! | ||||||||||||||

| Here's a close-up of the slider suspension. Looks like Mike has a little bit of work ahead of him. the front section has broken loose and the rear section is pointing the wrong way, but I don't see anything unrepairable or irreplaceable. A replacement shaft and a couple of wheels will need to be located.
