What I think of The Perfect Soldier...

Gundam Wing wouldn't be half as entertaining if its characters weren't marginally insane. I mean, the whole cast could use a weekend retreat, but Heero especially. He's a walking time bomb.  Then again, he's been trained to kill since he was in footie pajamas. You have to feel a little sorry for him, even as he points a gun to your head.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Heero's physical makeup. By my count, he should have died at least four times by now. I even started to tear up that one episode. He seems the most willing to toss his life away, for whatever reason.

It's hard to explain, but Heero and Duo complement each other perfectly, whether or not you believe they're comrades-in-each-other's-arms. Plus it's fun to watch Duo antagonize him.

Anyhow, my favorite scene still has to be when Heero rips up Relena's party invitation, then flicks the tear off her cheek with an "Omae o korosu" (I'm going to kill you). Note-perfect. It gets better with each viewing. I use that phrase a lot.

Those cool deadly eyes and cute little boots. One can hardly blame Relena for stalking Heero (although I personally think she belongs under the heel of Wing Zero).
