Lord of the Rings
Lord of the Rings is a classic epic adventure that was just recently brought to life by New Line Cinema. Good job guys! Although for those of you that read the books AND saw the movies, the differnces between the two are sometimes obvious. Still the movies are great! Lord of the Rings tells the story of a simple hobbit, Frodo, that lived in the Shire. One day this simple hobbit inherites a great giftt, the one ring. "The one ring to rule them all" Frodo is soon told by his trusted protector and friend Gandalf the wizard. Frodo soon learns the history of his gift. The ring has a long and dramtic yet exciting past. The ring was forged by Sauron, an evil wizard that wanted to control all of Middle-Earth. Sauron first created seperate rings. "Seven were given to the dwarf lords, three to the elves and nine were given to the mortal man doomed to die. Man above all else desired power"-Fellowship of the Ring. They took the rings without question. Bad idea. "But [the rings] were all of them desived. In secert Sauron forged another ring. In this ring he poured his crulity, streanth and will to dominate all life."-Fellowship of the Ring. Sauron took his new ring and used it to dystroy all of the lands of Middle-Earth. A last allaince of men and elves came to Mordor (Sauron's home, evil place. Don't go there). Besides the hills is where they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth. They were winning until Sauron came and kicked their butts. Sauron killed the King, Isidor's father. When Sauron was about to kill Isidor himself, Isidor took up his fathers sword and swung; dystroying Sauron.
I know that for many of you are confused by the movies. Especially with like 12,000 main characters and all of them have strange names-to us anyway-like Faghorn or Treelock. So I have done up a summery of the movies (note some of the info comes with the books too) for you to read. Hopefully this will be of some help to some of you. If you have no intrest whatsoever in this topic-just skim down to the link to the main page at the bottem of the screen.
