"You can't be serious." Anna said as she sat with her sister.

"Well what am I suppose to do with him? I don't know anything about being a mother. I'll end up killing him." Nina reasoned.

"He's two years old, and he's fine. He's your son." Anna shrugged. "And I hate to admit it you've done a pretty good job raising him."

"Yea since when do I listen to you?" Nina snapped. "I just think it would be better if I put him up for adoption, you know send him to a family that will love him. See there is this family in England-"

"Look I know that we are not on the best terms but don't think that getting rid of your child is best. He really loves you." Anna admitted.

"Look I just am not ready for a child and he's not even going to know the difference, I'm sure that the people in England are great." Nina dismissed. Steve's head fell as he walked down the hall. He heard what his mother had said, everything. Though he was young he knew that obviously his mother did not want him.

Later that night--->

"Steve, sweetie, you hungry?" Nina asked as she poked his head in his room. Steve wasn't there, Nina's heart dropped. She raced around the house hoping to find her little boy but he was no where in sight.

Nina walked into the kitchen and saw that the door was partly open. He left the house. Nina ran out the house the cold outside air stinging her body.

"Steve!" Nina screamed as she ran through the yard. "Steve are you out here!" She yelled again. Nothing. She thought for a moment and looked all through the yard, finally finding him in the little dog house in the backyard. Steve was curled in the tiny cold space, shivering. "Sweetheart what are you doing out here?"

"You no love me anymore." Steve whispered as tears formed in his eyes. "You gonna send me away."

Nina's eyes softened. He heard the conversation. "Sweetie let's go inside and talk ok?"

"No, you just gonna leave me, cause you no want me no mores." Steve cried. Nina reached him and picked him up cradling him close to her.

"No, it's not that. I just don't think I'm the best thing for you right now. I want you to have a good life." Nina sighed as she hugged him.

"With you." Steve finished as he hugged her. "I love you."

"Love you too." Nina smiled as she kissed him on the forehead.

"Hey there, is your mom home?" Paul asked as he leaned down looking at the little blonde boy that answered the door.

"Yea, who are you?" Steve asked as he looked up at him. Paul frowned. It hurt that your own son would ask who you were but then again this would be the first time that they were well formally introduced.

"A friend of your mothers." Paul told him.

"Mama! There is a man with funny blonde hair at the door!" Steve yelled. Paul laughed. Nina came to the door.

"Oh, hey Paul, come on in." Nina said showing him into the house. Nina picked her son up. "Steve, remember when you asked me what your daddy looked like?"

"Yea." Steve answered as he remembered the conversation with his mother.

"Well this is Paul he's your father." Nina smiled as she introduced the two of them.

"Mama he has funny hair." Steve whispered even though Paul could here. Paul chuckled as well as Nina. Then Steve walked over to Paul. "Hi, I'm Steve."

"And I'm your father." Paul smiled bending down to his level. "Nice meeting you. I brought you a little gift." Paul said handing him a teddy bear with little boxing gloves on them.

"I like him Mama." Steve nodded in approval as he took the gift, then giving his father a hug for the first time.

"Steve you wanna go see Santa?" Paul asked as he carried his son in the busy mall around Christmas.

"I don't want to sit in some fat strangers lap." Steve cringed.

"But Steve its Santa." Paul said trying to convince the child.

"No, Santa is not real just like the Easter bunny and the Tooth Fairy, you know that." Steve laughed.

"You have to tell Santa what you want for Christmas." Paul told him as they stepped in the line. Then finally it was Steve's turn.

"Hello little boy." Santa said as Steve sat in his lap. "What would you like for Christmas this year?"

"I would like you to admit that there is no such thing as Santa Claus. Well there was one but he's dead!" Steve told him with annoyance in his voice.

"But little boy wouldn't you like me to bring you something on Christmas morning?" The man told him.

"Nope I'd rather take your pride." Steve grinned as he pulled the beard off of the man as the photographer took the picture.

"I knew letting him read would make that boy too smart for his own good." Paul sighed shaking his head.

Thunder clapped waking the small child from his sleep. Then a flash of lightening caused a loud yelp. Picking up his teddy bear he walked down the hall to his parents' room. His hand was placed on the knob but quickly withdrew.

"Mama." Steve whispered as he listened to the noises that were coming from the room. Sounds of rustling around and also a woman's cries frightened Steve. He peeked open the door to see daddy on top of his mother and what seemed like he was hurting her. Quickly closing the door, he ran down stairs and grabbed the cordless and walked outside on the front porch, dialing 911.

"Hello 911." The operator said picking it up.

"My daddy is killing my mommy!" Steve cried as he held the phone.

"Its ok sweetie, tell me where you live."

Steve gave out the information as he talked to the operator. And pretty soon the police were there. The officer picked up Steve and took him in the house while the other officers walked upstairs.

"Don't move!" The officer yelled as he kicked down the door another attacked Paul to the ground pulling him off of Nina.

"What the?" The Paul yelled as he scrambled to cover himself up, Nina doing the same.

"Oh, sorry." The officers said trying not to laugh.

"What is going on?" Nina demanded to know.

"A little boy called and said that his father was killing his mommy." The officer chuckled. Then they saw Steve run into the room with an officer chasing behind him.

"You hurt my mommy!!!" Steve screamed as he jumped on Paul punching him. The officer picking the boy up.

"Alright there has been a false alarm, let's go boys." The head cop said as they filed out the house.

About an hour later----

"I'm confused." Steve pouted as he sat in the kitchen with both of his parents.

"Your father wasn't hurting me." Nina smiled.

"Then why were you screaming?" Steve questioned.

"Cause your mother was having fun, we were playing a game." Paul told him off the top of his head.

"Is it a game like the animals play on the TV? You know when they mate or something." Steve asked eyes wide with curiosity.

"Time for bed." Paul said as he picked his son up and ushered him to his room, quickly tucking him in. Then heading back to his own room.

"I can't believe he caught us, you know." Nina chuckled to herself as she walked back into their room. "Well this is your fault."

"Explain?" Paul asked lying on the bed.

"You forgot to lock the door." Nina laughed as she laid next to him.

"That's something I'd like to forget." Steve sighed as he continued to read his health book that triggered the memory.
