“What am I going to do?”
Julia asked as she dropped the phone back into her purse.
“See you
weren’t so cheap you could just buy one of those cell phone covers.” Christie
shrugged.
“Well I think it’s a little late for that I mean, my mom could
get the call any second now.” Julia freaked out as she walked back and
forth.
“Well I have a brilliant idea.” Xiaoyu said as she rubbed her
stomach.
“Really what is it?” Julia asked happily.
“I am going to
go sit my ass down cause my back is killing me!” Xiaoyu moaned as she walked
back to the table.
“Yea that should teach you to keep your legs closed.”
Julia muttered.
“See the difference between me and you is that I can take
this thing off after about two weeks this will be your future in months to
come.” Xiaoyu said with a smile as she walked away.
“Well she does have a
point I mean there is no use in getting all worked up.” Christie said as she
walked with Julia back over to their table. “I mean your mother has probably
realized that she has your phone and probably has turned it off so now the
doctor will just have to leave a message.”
“You really think so?” Julia
asked hopefully as they stopped in their tracks.
“If it makes you feel
better then sure if it doesn’t then no, no I don’t believe it not one bit.”
Christie quickly rambled.
“Chris, so me a favor and don’t talk. I mean
it’s bad enough that well Hwo doesn’t even know yet and now my mother will find
out and she’ll tell Mr. Baek.” Julia groaned.
“Well let’s just hope for
the best, I mean your mom hardly ever turns her cell phone on.” Christie said
smiling.
“You’re right.” Julia said with her face lighting up. “There is
still hope for me.” Julia said happily as she walked back to the
table.
Across town--->
“I am so happy that you decided to come
to out.” Jun said as she and Michelle sat down at a table
“I guess you’re
right.” Michelle said sighing as she leaned back in her chair. The little
restaurant was set outside. “I should take off work more often.”
“You
need the break.” Jun said knowingly. “I mean come one what are you going to do
when Julia goes off to college, that’s only a few months away.”
“I know
it’s just that I am afraid that she won’t need me anymore, she’s so independent
and responsible.” Michelle smiled. “I guess I shouldn’t have to worry about
her.”
“You won’t I mean as of late the kids have been good.” Jun
shrugged. “You hear about that party a few months ago.”
“Is that the one
a few months ago when the first football game of the year started?” Michelle
questioned. Jun nodded. “Yea I heard about that. The drinking and the drug use,
I mean I even heard that the police officer caught two kids in bed with each
other. When I asked Julia if she had heard about it, well she just shrugged. She
said that she heard that but I am just thankful that my daughter would never do
something like that.”
“I understand, it’s just a shame that there are all
these teenage girls getting pregnant right when their future is at their reach.”
Jun sighed as she shook her head. “It makes me question what kind of parents
there are in the world.”
“Well I don’t think I need to worry, even if
something like that did happen to Julia, I know that she would come tell me.”
Michelle nodded. “And I would be there for her no matter what.”
“Well I
don’t think-“Jun said as she started her sentence but the shrill of a cell phone
cut her off. They looked at Michelle’s pocketbook.
“The one day that I
forget to turn this thing off.” Michelle said as she answered the phone.
“Hello.”
“Yea Miss Chang?” The voice on the other end said.
“Yes
this is she.” Michelle said.
“We have the results of your pregnancy
test.” The voice said.
“Whoo, hold up, rewind, and back it up! I haven’t
been to any clinic and or doctor.” Michelle said as she talked into the
phone.
“What, this isn’t Julia Chang?” The voice asked
shocked.
“No this is her mother!” Michelle yelled. “And what are you
talking, about pregnancy test?”
“Look I am sorry Miss but all patient
information is confidential.” The doctor said as he hung the phone
up.
“Michelle what is it?” Jun asked concerned at her friend’s sudden
rage.
“Looks like I know how was fucking at the party.” Michelle growled
in an unearthly tone. Julia was in for it. “I’m sorry but something as come up
that needs my attention I will talk to you later.” Michelle said getting up and
walking off.
“I would hate to be whoever pissed her off.” Jun said as she
sipped on her ice-tea.
After school------>
“I don’t even want
to know.” Kazuya said as he looked at Xiaoyu and Jin arguing with each
other.
“Look I need some me time! You watch the kids, I need a break! I
am fat, my ankles are swollen from walking with all this extra weight and you
are driving me up the wall.” Xiaoyu yelled poking Jin for emphasis.
“Look
as long as we are married we are going to have to get along, meaning we have to
share the responsibility of children.” Jin said trying to calm her
down.
“Well are you responsible for this.” Xiaoyu said pointing at her
stomach.
“Takes two to tango.” Jin reminded her.
“Yea, well guess
what it takes one to lead in that little dance!” Xiaoyu said stomping off with
some of their well, ‘children’.
“Looks like I became an over night
grandparent.” Kazuya said looking at the bundles in Jin’s arms.
“It’s for
a class, me and Xiao are married with kids and one of the way.” Jin sighed.
“It’s been hell.”
“I know and this ain’t even the real thing.” Kazuya
laughed.
“Why is she so mad with me? I try to be a good husband I really
do.” Jin said as he looked down at the two kids he was holding.
“Just
wait till you really marry her, things will get better- hopefully.” Kazuya
smiled.
“There we go with that theory again.” Jin muttered as one of the
dolls began to cry. He tended to him.
“Why did we have to walk now?”
Hwoarang asked as he Christie, Steve and Julia were walking back to Julia’s
house.
“Cause it’s healthy.” Steve said.
“Speak for yourself.”
Hwoarang cursed. “This thing weights a ton.” He was referring to the suit he was
wearing.
“Look when we get in you may sit down.” Julia said as he turned
the key in the whole. “I could’ve sworn I left the light on.”
“I know I
turned it off.” Michelle’s voice lurked in the shadows. The lights came on.
Everyone stepped into the house. Michelle decided to ignore everyone’s strange
appearance. “Oh good I have something I wanted to ask you all. Do any of you
know anything about a party that happened a few months ago that the police
busted?” Everyone went wide eyed. Christie, Steve, Julia and Hwoarang had the
collective thought- oh shit!
“Look, you ain’t getting me into trouble.”
Christie hissed looking at Julia. “Alright she confesses, she and Hwoarang
screwed each other at that party and Julia thinks she’s pregnant, but you took
her cell phone so the doctor may have called you!”
“Christie you trader!”
Julia yelled.
“Call me what you want I ain’t in this, it’s all you all.
Come on Steve.” Christie said as she snagged Steve and they ran out the door.
The truth was out.
