Well today Aug 29th, 2002 I have been put back on graveyard shift. My work is laying off including that I know of, 5 room service employees, and 130 House Keeping Employee's and others from different departments.


Coming up on the anniversary of Sept. 11th the great management and leaders of the hotels in Vegas feel that profits our down over last Sept. (You don�t say?) and the only thing to do it cut regular employees (no management has been cut even know they get paid more then us, and would save the hotel more money. Go Figure) why do they really do this?


SO THEY CAN PAY BONUSES TO THE BIG HEADS OF THE HOTELS, well that at least is my opinion. Seeing last year they laid off 3,000 employees and then paid themselves over 20million in bounses (for saving labor no doubt).


Hey but I am union and they will protect me, Ya RIGHT.... The Local culinary 226 is a joke there are 3,000+ culinary workers who pay $32 a month (that over 1million dollars a year) and the union does nothing to protect us while at work or in this time of layoffs to prevent us from losing our jobs.


Well Local 226 heads, we have out insurance but for the 130 GRA's at my work and the Room Service employees that not going to do us any good because they wont have the hours to keep the insurance and you guys will just drop them, innless they want to pay a $200+ cobra.


So this is my day, my opinion, and my truths. To hell with the union and there not protection backstabbing butts, and to the Management of Mandaly Bay Resort Group who cares about nothing but themselves and there bounses.
