This is me.  Forgive the wonderful picture, but playing with the new digital camera isn't the best way to get a portrait.  I'll make an effort to imporve this.  I'm 38, and live with my three dogs, and a sometimes roomate Ed.  I grew up an Army brat, so I moved around a little, but primarily grew up in the Washington, DC area.  Not long after graduating from RPI with a BS in Mechanical Engineering I took a job with Vitro Corp in Dahlgren, Va.  I couldn't imagine staying in Dahlgren too long, but 12 years later, I still work in the same area, and have moved farther out instead of back to civilation.  Now I own a farm and the house which I designed and am still building  is on an island.

The farm is tentatively named
Pine Island Farm.  The original idea was Blowing Pines, but that was in December, when the pines are in fact blowing because of a rather relentless northwest wind.  In August, when the humidity is about the same as the temperture, around 90, there is no real breeze to blow the pines or to cool one off.  I'm afraid that any summertime visitors would question the "Blowing" part of the name, and any winter visitors would not see it as a positive attribute.  In any event, the sound of the wind blowing through tall pines at night is wonderful, especially in the summer.
