Today's focus is something I hate more than anything: WinXP. There are a lot of reasons why it's completely useless, but I'm going to highlight the most important. They are:
1. Security features: They aren't used to protect the user, but rather Microsoft's own grubby hands. It still uses all the security holes that NT 5.0 has.
2. Shell size: The size of the OS shell is much larger than anything I've ever seen, and it's full of crap no one needs or wants in it's basic function.
3. Background programs: Know how Win9X can run with only "Explorer" and "Systray" running? XP uses all the latest in useless background programs, most of which are unnecessary reminders and useless M$ based software no one wants.
Aside from these three main points, there are a whole host of bugs and glitches, as well as many software incompatibility issues. Much of the older "outdated" hardware doesn't run, including the popular 3DFX Voodoo video cards. So please, save yourself the hassle and don't buy this OS.
