When The Skippy Zone! was first in production, I had very few plans other than to make a web page and have some things on it. My first big idea came, though, when I was reading Pete's Ten Things lists, which, at the time only had about twenty lists. I asked him one morning if he'd like to have the whole bunch of them put on the internet for all to read. At first, copyright issues were raised, but the problem vanished when I told him there would be copyright notices on each one, so there would be no need to worry. The idea was approved and oon they went. They drew many people and it got to the point where people actually came here specifically for them. The section continues to grow today, as there are over fifty ten things lists.
The second breakthrough on The Skippy Zone! was Stephy. She had visited my site a few times and I visited hers a few times. When I noticed the hit counter getting higher, I asked her for an affiliation. She immediately accepted and I quickly got to making a button. Though I still await her button, we are linked to each other, and it works out well for us, because we gain the occassional bonus visitor from one another's site.
