GRIEF
The heartaches we suffer ever more.
Flashbacks, nightmares, trouble and strife.
The sorrows and pain we must endure.
Only because of that damned war
.

Horrid things to remember all our lives.
Hidden in darkness we won't let emerge.
A past, thought forgotten, hidden away for sure.
Only because of that damned war
.

Loners we are, we've been shunned.
For our freedom, and things said we done.
An outcast, a misfit, to society a closed door.
Only because of that damned war.

We punish ourselves in ways we know not.
Because of things we thought we forgot.
Loneliness is sadness yet we crave more.
Only because of that damned war.

We bare our own troubled hearts.
No one can see the pain we hide.
We go our own way, these things we ignore.
Only because of that damned war.
