| Well, Ive finished the front of the porch and I have started on the right-hand side. So far the New England village is my favorite. I just like the grey and white, as well as the scale. I just have not been able to carry that scale throughout. I think its because I have not done this as a continuous painting, but have moved around in it. Sort of like starting at the ends and meeting in the middle. You know, like the transcontinental railroad, only one side used a bigger track than the other side did. Or it could be Im not that good at this yet. YET! I cant believe I said that. This is a one of a kind life time experience. This has become my Sistine Chapel. I stand on a ladder till my feet hurt, squinting through my dime store reading glasses painting my weekends and evening away. Its drudgery! My life is Hell! Susan has even started to complain about the tubes of paint lying around, or the paint on everything, or the brushes and palettes every where, and when are you going to finish, yadda-yadda blaaaah-blaaaah. Damn, woman, this is art. You cant rush art! No wonder Van Gogh cut his ear off. Or was that Dali? Oh well. Heres the new stuff. |

I started this new section with the old picture of the bridge to Maine from the earlier posting. I did this just to show you I added some sheep on the hill. Thats it. Just some sheep. |

This is the beginning of the village. In the bottom right I have a lady on a bicycle waving to someone on a porch out of the picture. Youll see them later. There is a boat on the ocean and a really neat sea gull flying by, but youll just have to take my word on the gull, you cant see it very well. |

Now you are in the heart of the village and can see the biking lady and her friend. I decided to add smoke to the chimneys here. Its a little dark and makes me think they are burning toxic waste here. |

This house over looks the village. A crazy lady lives here. OK, shes eccentric. She lives up here all alone and I think thats weird. Susan does not like the trees in this section but I do. I think they look weathered and they go good with the rocks. |

We continue on down the hill and come to the cow pasture. I like this scene too. Have you picked up on all the birds? I got hung up on them through this area, but could not paint one flying to the right. Dont know why. Just couldnt do it. |

Here is where the rich guy of the village lives. The guy with the ox cart works for him. I really like the dogwood tree lane, but I'm not real happy with the ox cart guy. Theres a pretty neat red barn to the right though. I wish I would have gotten a better shot of it. |
