| Tom & Ramonda's window | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This window was unique in that it used custom made bevels to surround the �picture�. This created a dilemma. The bevels meant that the center picture had to be built perfectly matched to the pattern for the bevels to fit together and to circle the picture. I wasn�t sure how I was going to do this at first. I finally ended up building the window from the outside in. Here�s how. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Here�s the pattern for Tom & Ramonda�s window. It is another privacy window in a bathroom. I guess I�m sorter specializing in bathroom windows. This is the third one. This one went in their condo at the beach, and we tried to match the wallpaper pattern and the color. It actually matched pretty well. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I first made a circle frame the exact size of the pattern to insure the window would fit the hole it went in to. Tom & Ramonda supplied the pattern for that, so I was off the hook if it did not go in the hole it was designed for. As long as I made my pattern right! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| After creating my plywood frames I then formed the lead and installed the bevels. This way I knew all the pieces fit together and fit the window. (I hoped) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I now built my palm tree. In this center section I used a different technique than the outside. The bevels are traditional lead came and soldered joints, but inside I used foil and solder. This is the way Tiffany Lamps are built. It also allows for some forgiveness and adjustability I just would not have with lead, plus it allows me to scale down my joints to keep them from over powering the small pieces of glass. | This is the finished product. I was not there for the installation, but it did fit. I have since seen it installed, (thanks again Tom & Ramonda for the use of the condo) , and it looks pretty good. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
