We're almost at the All Star break, and so far this is Skip's year. He's been putting up the best numbers of his career mainly because he's seeing a whole lotta minutes. Due to Dwayne Wade's absenses, Rafer has also seen 18 starts.

I saw
this article about Rafer. It's pretty good, it seems alot of these have been popping up recently.

I also saw this video on the Knicks official website. I don't know what Rafer was trying to do, but it's kinda hard to pick Skip to My Lou, and somehow Keith Van Horn did. Click on this link to watch the video of the Knicks' site:

Here it is, the first picture of Rafer in a Miami Heat uniform:

It's kinda weird seeing him in it cus I always wanted him to play for New York, and now he's
the enemy...

Tommorow the Heat head to Puerto Rico to play their first preseason game. Skip is probably gonna see a lotta burn. I don't expect any all star numbers, it takes a while for a player to get used to his new team, especially for a point guard. But then again, he did score 17 in his first game with Toronto...

Everybody don't forget to go to the nba.com and get your #11 Heat unis...

I was going to put the Mixology section up, but I'm delaying that because it's going to be bigger than I expected. Thanks to everybody reading this, sorry to disappoint but theres gonna be a lot of updates coming up all season long. I promise to stay updated on Rafer and the Heat the entire season. Peace...

This past saturday Rafer played Lamar Odom at a park in Miami (click here for the photos). As far as I know they just played HORSE. Despite Lamar doing dunks, which I guess is kinda cheap because Rafer can't dunk, Rafer still won. Chyea.

Training camp starts soon, let's hope Riley sees Rafer as a strong veteran point guard... stay tuned for details.

Rafer Alston vs. Lamar Odom? Rafer was just signed to Miami and already he's gonna play against another new Heat member Lamar Odom this Friday, at Jose Marti Park in Miami. As good as Rafer is... he is not an even match for fellow NY native Lamar Odom. The game probably isn't going to be a straight up one-on-one, but similar to what Dwyane Wade and Caron Butler did last week: pick some kids out of the crowd to jump in and play a 3 on 3 or something like that just for fun. It's good to see that Rafer's getting noticed and this will probably build up his popularity down there in Miami. If anyone lives in that area and is going to the game please please please email me with a story or some pics or anything. My email is [email protected]. To find out more and see the photos from Wade vs. Butler check out
heat.com.

Don't forget to keep checkin
logodesign.com to see Rafer's logo, I don't know what's taking so long.

Sorry about the pics from the NY game, I still didn't get around to scanning them but the will be up soon.

There have been recent rumors of Orlando being interested in signing Rafer Alston. That seemed like a definite agreement until Miami has put up more money for the God. Expect Rafer to be signed within the next 2 days... keep checkin nba.com and espn.com. Miami has two point guards already, sort of. Eddie Jones has been playing the point sometimes but is much more efficient at the two. The other point is first round pick Dwayne Wade, who played impressively last year in college. Wade is Rafer's only real competition for the starting spot. Will Pat Riley choose experience over talent? Let's hope so. Good luck to Rafer...

BaBiiBoi99 sent me this link a while ago, sorry I forgot about it. Rafer is at about the middle of the page. Read what they have to say about him being a free agent. It's true too...

The report is finished, pictures coming soon. Anybody that heard that new "Tupac Freestyle," it's fake. It's by The Realest, a Death Row artist that is so obsessed with Pac that he even wants to be him. I think Death Row made a big mistake by trying to make it look like Pac is alive and letting their artists pull something like that. I just felt like saying that. Thanks.

It's been about a month since I updated the site, I apologize for that. It seems I have a bad habit for leaving a long period of time in between updates, but there really hasn't been much to report. Thanks to everyone who has been visiting the site everyday waiting for an update, I really appreciate it. Let's get to business...

I went to the NYC And1 game last thursday,
this link will appear underlined when I finish the report... Rumors circulating the the Orlando Magic are "very interested" in signing Rafer Alston for the 2003 2004 season... Everybody please check out FireLayden.com... Well I'm gonna get to work on the report, I'm goin all out and I promise you it's gonna be good. Thanks again to everybody!

Rafer Alston chooses LogoDesign.com to design "logo and web presence." I don't know if this is recent or old news, because the site is not dated. I'm pretty sure this will be the logo that will represent him, similar to the Jordan logo everyone knows. It'll probably be featured on all of his footwear and apparel. What I'm sure about is that Skip found a company to make the site for his new fan club. I'll keep you posted if I get more information. Check out the story yourself at
LogoDesign.com.

Anyone who hasn't, make sure you get to a Footaction and pick up the Skip vs. Alimoe Battle tape. Everything was true about Rafer when he was younger: he came to the games late and still won, rocked braids, chewed gum, and played with toothpicks.

Also, tommorow is the first day that free agents are allowed to begin signing with teams. Cross your fingers (NY!). Read about Rafer at the Rucker
here.

1nce again, Rafer Alston finds himself a free agent. I don't see any reason why Toronto would not be resigning Skip, after a breakout season in which he averaged 7.8 points and 4.1 assists. Unfortunately, too many teams, including my hometown Knicks, will be passing up on the "young veteran" (Re:
My Open Letter to Scott Layden). I'm not sure if Rafer will be playing in the NBA summer league this year with Toronto, but of course he will take part in some of the And1 Mixtape Tour again. Chuck Swirsky, who writes a column for raptors.com, wrote "I also recieve a number of questions pertaining to the Raptors interest of resigning Alston... As of now I think the Raptors have not closed the door on anyone or anything. I'll be at the L.A. Summer League... it's safe to say that a few veterans[Rafer Alston] will make an appearance."

This past week I recieved an email from a member of Rafer's family talking about my site and Rafer- who is now playing for Terror Squad (Fat Joe) in the Rucker League, the returning champs. He was kind enough to send me some autographed photos of Rafer on the Raptors and Bucks, and even the SLAM Streetball Magazine Cover. I will have those pictures scanned and posted within the next week or so.

It's been a while...
In the new SLAM
presents Streetball Special Collector's Issue (if you get SLAM delivered to you, you have to go to the store and buy it because special issues and not included in the subscription) there is a cover story interview with Rafer Alston and a story on the And1 Tour. I think there are more And1 ads than articles in this one, one advertizing a new "Skip vs. Alimoe" tape that you could get by purchasing And1 products at "participating retailers" by July 11th.  Besides this tape, the sixth installment of the And1 Mixtape will be out August 3rd. Also included in the magazine are stories on basically every streetballer under contract with And1 including Hot Sauce, Main Event, AO, and others. Right now I'm working on typing up this interview with Skip and then I'll type up the Skip article from issue 68. Check out slamonline.com.
