You tell me, I've been walking on a railing
It was easier said than done, this mission, but the seeker was not in the mood
to do much after a practically hard day at work. Hook had repaired his clock,
which now sung to him in the morning. He wasn’t sure if he should be grateful
or smash it over Hook’s snickering head. Especially when he found it was
none other than Thundercracker’s voice on it.
The day consisted of going about as usual, but they also had to do a bit more
mining. He emerged from the tunnel eight hours later almost looking like Skywarp’s
twin, minus the purple and white. Scavenger had come with him as well, and made
a heck of a mess when he hit an old oil pipe. If he wasn’t so sickingly
kind, Starscream would have probably set him on fire.
But now he was at home, his arms leaning on the rails of his balcony. He looked
out at the city, glowing with lights in the twilight sky. The moons hanging
overhead … one shining red while the other shined blue. It made it almost
seem like they were showing the former fractions of the transformers.
It made no sense for them to be shining two colours, unless you looked at the
stars that the planet orbited. It so happened that the moons picked up light
in such a way that they reflected one of the stars colours. In this case, the
dwarf star shone a pale red, hence the moon, while the main star shone blue,
hence the other colour.
He looked out, and thought about everything again. He tended to like to let
his mind wander while out here, getting a rare moment’s peace from his
job and his thoughts of Megatron and Skyfire.
Sunstorm …
Yes. Him.
It made no sense for him not to have killed him back when he was first created,
and when Starscream had found out he existed. Now, normally he would allow nothing
like this to happen to him and let it escape unscathed, but there was something
about Sunstorm that stoped him …
Been excelling at failing
That I think wrong, I don't belong
I don't fit, I don't give a shit

The red seeker nearly tore his own arms off trying to get loose from the
hold on him, but the guards held him secure. They led him to the room where
he would meet his double, and that would be an interesting experience. Guards
were on standby to make sure he didn’t kill the young seeker, and Starscream
was not sure if he would take heed of that.
It was barely a year after the ceasefire, and Starscream was still much the
same as he once was. This was a factor the guards had also taken into account.
The red seeker was chucked into the room. He stumbled, then stood up and glared
at the door, then turned.
Standing before him was a yellow seeker, the brightness of the sun. His pelvis
and chest were both a deeper gold, but his forearms were silver. But his face
… his face was the same as Starscream’s very own. Dark with red
optics, and a black helmet. His wings had a red stripe and a white stripe along
it, just like his did.
They had gone back to their Cybertron forms, and although Sunstorm presented
these likenesses, his actual form was much different. His chest had two points
like wings going upwards, with two stripes on it to match his wings. He had
rounded shoulders and thick arms, like he did, but they were still different
in design. His torso was a golden brown-y colour, with vents on them more in
common with Thundercracker than him. His legs were like his though, with the
top being coloured black and more or less the same design. His lower legs had
a triangle piece on them, totally different to him and silver feet.
The jet looked up at him, nervous and afraid. And he should well be too. Here
was Starscream: Former Second in Command of the Decepticon army and here he
was, nothing but his clone …
No.
He was a real being, and he was not going to live out to be a copy.
Starscream folded his arms over his chest and narrowed his optics. He was not
liking what was going on around him at all, and the fact that this seeker was
actually quite beautiful pissed him off as well, but he was here, and there
was nothing he could do about it. Killing was not going to happen anymore, so
the seeker tried to make sense of how to deal with this in a peaceful matter.
“So, you’re Sunstorm …” He said, his voice clear with
dislike.
“That’s right.” Sunstorm said, nodding, trying not to listen
to his other’s tone. “And I wanted to state my position, Starscream.”
The red seeker nodded, a sign he could go on.
“I know I was cloned from you, and that I may have certain traits that
may or may not run parallel to yours, such as interests, but I don’t want
to have them.”
Starscream opened his mouth slightly, and unfolded his arms, not comprehending
what he was saying.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
“I don’t want to be you, just as much as you don’t want me
to be you.” He stated.
“I see …” Starscream said slowly.
He was just thinking about the best way to kill him when a thought struck him:
Skyfire.
He knew that the white jet would want him to go back to him, but he knew he
could not. So why not send someone who was not only like him in some ways, but
also an individual?
Yes, he seemed dead set against becoming something like Starscream … but
that may not be able to be helped, so …
“I’ll tell you what.” Starscream said in a business-like tone.
“I’ll let you live on two conditions:”
“What’s that?” Sunstorm asked, relieved that he wasn’t
going to be blasted.
“If you promise to go to the Science academy and keep my friend Skyfire
company, and promise me to be as much as yourself as you can.” He grinned.
Sunstorm grinned as well, but it was much brighter. Suddenly, Starscream saw
a younger version of himself in that face … Maybe he could learn from
Sunstorm as much as the yellow seeker could learn from him.
“Thankyou Starscream!” He said, running up to him. “And I
promise.” He gave a bow before leaving quickly.

Seeing the younger self in him was it. It had to have been.
Starscream looked up at the bright red star that glinted at him. He now knew
that no matter how hard he could try, Sunstorm was here and he would be for
a long time. He hoped that he would not regret letting the seeker live.
He walked back inside, taking a deep breath. There was so much to sort out,
and so much to do …
Turning his video phone on, he quickly contacted Shockwave to get a meeting
of the Guardians underway tomorrow, then headed out to visit Megatron …
You can't see the things that make
Your happiness go away, well I can
***
I don’t know what to do anymore … not here anyways …
Megatron was staring out of his window, not really seeing anything. He sat on
his bed, feeling crappy like he usually did these days. He had no way to relieve
his tensions anymore.
Normally, when things got annoying or down, he went out and shot something or
bashed up someone (normally Starscream, he almost shivered) and feel
right as rain. But now he could not do either …
He grabbed his head, and fought off the urge to scream. This room, this place,
this anger at everyone was driving him insane!!
It's all in your head
It's in your head
It's sad but it’s true
It's inside you
Keep wallowing in your misery
It's all in your head
That was why, when Starscream walked in the door, he tackled him with a roar.
Starscream yelled out in shock and surprise as he suddenly found himself on
the floor and staring into a pair of blazing crimson optics. He gasped, then
chocked out “Megatron! What are you doing?!”
What AM I doing? He thought. He stared down at the seeker, releasing
his throat that he did not realize he had grasped. He stared at the seeker for
no less than two seconds, but it felt like an eternity as a million thoughts
screamed though his head.
…Why am I here … having a seeker help me?
I don’t know why I hated him
I was scared of him … wasn’t I? Oh yeah, I was scared of my feelings
for him
I have no feelings …
What feelings?
Hate and Love …
HOW COULD I LOVE SOMEONE?!
…no, I didn’t love him … at least not in the petty romantic
way that the stupid Autobots go on about …
I loved him because he was so free from the bindings of war … when I met
him …and I had to beat him down … hold him down … obliterate
that freedom as I tried to obliterate my feelings …
I hated him …
I HATE HIM!
No
I hate him for what he is and what I am and what he has become and what I’ve
become …
All this time I said he was weak … all this time I said he was the one
who deserved the smelter … I think I do for what I did to him
But he forgives me … after all that …
Why can’t I accept that?
Because I need to redeem myself in my own eyes before I can possibly want to
be even a friend to this seeker
But I already am his friend … I always was his friend from the
start …until I let my emotions get the better of me and take it out on
him … I hate myself for that …
What’s worse is I just tackled him for no good reason …
Time seemed to return to normal, and Megatron jumped off the seeker and sat
on the floor, holding his head in one hand. Starscream slowly sat up, then looked
over at him.
“What was all that about?” He said, a bit indignant about it.
Megatron sighed, “Sorry. I don’t know …”
“It’s this place.” Starscream glared around the room, standing
up. “Being shut up like a rat in a cage. It’s driving you insane.”
“Don’t tell me how I feel.” Megatron said with a glare, and
stood himself. Starscream turned around, his gaze cold.
“Well if I don’t then no one will.” He said. “The walls
can’t talk you know.”
“Don’t take that tone with me, Starscream” Megatron hissed,
walking up to him. “I may be going bloody insane but I don’t need
you to point it out!”
They glared at each other, before Megatron sighed a moment later.
“Forget it …” He muttered, looking out the window, avoiding
the seeker’s gaze.
Starscream looked at him with pity, walking over to him and placing an arm on
his back. Megatron acknowledged him with a sigh, and Starscream let him go and
sat on the window ledge, looking out sadly.
“You can’t see much from here.” He said.
“No.” Megatron shook his head. “But it’s enough to tantalize.”
Starscream looked at his sadly as Megatron flopped himself down, his head leaning
back against the seeker unintentionally.
“Stay here …” He said his optics shut.
Starscream looked down at his leader’s head and shoulders, and then sighed.
He saw the silent meaning behind his words, ‘I need you here, so please
stay.’
“Alright.” He replied.
They both slipped into recharge, Starscream’s arm falling over Megatron’s
shoulder unconsciously. Both had a restless dream of war and conflicting emotions.
You can't see the things that make
Your happiness go away, well I can
Honestly you're driving me insane, again
