| Special Events RED RIBBON WEEK This is a school-wide program that alerts students to the dangers of drugs and alcohol through different activities. Activities will be going on the entire month of October so keep an ear out for more information! Our culminating activity will be the 5th Annual Slam Dunk...Drugs are Junk basketball game. This game will be between teachers and our TSYS partners. The game is scheduled for Friday, October 31st, @ 2:00. Be there or be square! READ TO FEED! Working with Heifer International, this school-wide service project will combine our love for reading with feeding the hungry! Kids will read for money. The money is used to purchase livestock through Heifer International for a family in need. Families use monies derived from selling products derived from livestock to support themselves and send their children to school. Last January our school raised $1,451.50! Here is an idea of grade level support for Heifer... Kindergarten supported Mozambique and their fish project! 1st Grade supported an Urban Gardening Project! 2nd and 3rd Grade assisted farnmers in Georgia in bringing fresh vegetables to schools in the Southern 4-state region! 4th Grade bought pigs for families in Uganda! 5th Grade bought goats for families Mozambique...How cool is that? |
