| Kevan Barlow rushes for over 100 yards in the best game that the 49ers played since the Mariucci era. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| One week, I'm on the case of Mike Nolan and his decisions. I didn't agree with darn near half of what he's done to this 49ers organization, but he proves me wrong. Faced with an abundance of injuries, especially on the offensive line without Eric Johnson or Jonas Jennings, starting the really bad 3rd string to backup to starter to injured Ken Dorsey, and having a defense where the only highlight is the front line because of many linebackers' injuries, the staff still pulls a win out of their ass against Tampa Bay. Now the Bucs has QB issues now, as well as a Cadillac gone Pinto, but that offense was just pitiful. Granted the 49ers didn't play much better on the O, but at least they could get into field goal range. Apparently a 45 yarder is just a normality for Joe Nedney, who obviously deserves the game ball out of this one. Unfortunately everyone will talk about how the 49ers suck again after what will be a spanking against the Giants next Sunday. Seriously. If the Skins kicked the shit out of the Niners (52-17), and the Giants kicked the shit out of the Skins (36-0), what does logic tell you? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maybe logic tells you that Minnesota and Green Bay are the two most sorry-ass teams to ever play the sport? Believe me when I say that if UC-Davis can upset Stanford, they shouldn't have a problem with the Vikes or the Pack. How can the most inspired rivalry last year turn into a complete dud, and one of those one-team-dominates-the-other-first-half-then-vice-versa-next-half? Apparently a boat trip...and a loss of your best wide receiver and running back. Why do people make so much about Tice getting fired. Hell, I'd want to get the fuck out of there. It'll take a Bill Walsh-type rope to drag these losers from the whole they dug. Believe me when I say the Culpepper injury is the best thing that happened to him in a while. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Hey cheer up, we only lost by 30 this week. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I'd also like to express my disappointment of the Philadelphia Eagles still being called the "team to beat in the NFC." If last Sunday's dismal performance didn't give it away, nothing will. I'm actually going out on a limb and saying that these dawgs won't make it to the playoffs given the division they're in. There is zero running game, and it's what wins championships. Defense? Hell no, it takes the running game to keep the defense off the field and rest to play at their full potential when they need to be on the field. If Philly becomes the true one-dimensional team they really are, let's just say McNabb won't have to just worry about that sports hernia. OTHERS THINGS WE LEARNED THIS WEEKEND IN THE NFL: Steve Smith gets the official game ball of the week for his performance against, oh, nevermind. He had a good game though ... Tiki Barber gets the official game ball of the week for the amazing 200+ yards rushing against that tough Skins D ... San Diego wins a comfortable game for the first time, solving one issue but opening another: Do we have to see another year of Kansas City's bad D? ... Boy, that trendy pick of Arizona winning the NFC West is sure going well. When will Green show some pity on McCown? ... Ken Dorsey signed his retirement papers as of Sunday night ... Jeff Garcia, Joey Harrington, who gives a fuck who starts for the Lions? They both suck ass ... Buffalo had a tremendous chance to shove the Patriots down to a losing record. Then Tom Brady pulled a Vince Young ... Both Bay Area teams won on the same day for the first time since 2003 ... Anyone dumb enough to steal a ball from Brett Farve is subject to a death sentence ... Biggest upset? San Francisco over Tampa Bay. Biggest upset that matters? St. Louis over Jacksonville ... You could argue that Pittsburgh is not a strong team, and about how they barely pull off wins in the 4th quarter to be where they're at right now. Note the keyword "wins" ... Bachelor Jesse Palmer becomes the backup QB for the Niners. Now here's a trivia question: Where did Palmer last play? ... Next week's late afternoon games consists of teams combining for 19 wins go on the road and take on teams combining for 7 wins. I couldn't blame you for watching the PBA instead. |
