| Best Game: (2) Duke 97, Florida State 96 (OT) When doesn't FSU play Duke tougher than nails? First BC finally made me a believer in them, and also it proved that the ACC Tourney is gonna be some great fun again this year. JJ Redick had another great shooting performance with 36 points, getting a little heads up on MVP rival Morrison, but what about Al Thornton for FSU? 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists as he led his team in all those categories. I don't get ACC regional games, but luckily NESN had a delayed showing at 2pm, and after what I saw in the highlights it was certainly a must-watch. It was a game that really had the |

| feel of a tourney game, with bost teams contesting each other shot after shot, like the UW-Milwaukee vs BC game in the NCAA Tourney last year. However, this one was much better, having 26 ties and 17 lead changes. Yeah, that's game of the week material. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Worst Game: Texas Tech 73, Missouri 55 Boy am I smart. This game had bad vibes just looking at these two teams' names on a piece of paper. Missouri had, what, 8 points in the first 12 minutes when Texas Tech already had 20-something? Yah, Missouri had something of a comeback in the second half, but even a team as bad as TTU won't give that up. Quinn Snyder might just want to stay in Lubbock, because he sure ain't going to the big dance to save his job. OTHER NOTABLE GAMES 23)Iowa 94, 21)Michigan 66 Penn St 66, 6)Illinois 65 What's up with the Big 10? Of all these teams, Iowa finds themselves in the lead after Saturday. The Illini continue to be the most overrated team in America, with a horrible performance against Penn State even with an amazing start to it. And people call the Big 10 really good. Name me one team that you can see in the Elite 8. Tulane 61, Marshall 36 Okay...first Marshall gets a big upset, then loses to absolutely shit-faced Tulane with a dreadful 36 point performance. Thank god I'm not able to get stats on this bitchfight. That Marshall/Memphis rivalry game is sure gonna be somethin, huh? 8)Florida 95, Kentucky 80 I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, as this game was really good until most of the second half. Still, if you can't figure out that Kentucky will not be a tourney team after this game, nothing will. Stanford 71, Oregon State 64 Finally a pretty good Pac 10 game, and watchable from an offensive stance. Oregon State looked like hell at the beginning , but shockingly turned things around to make it a game. The big thing is obviously about Stanford. After a very bad start to the regular season, they have bounced back in the lowly-Pac 10, and since it is a major conference, it's not out of the question to see them in the big dance. Shocking. Alabama 67, 24)LSU 62 Didn't I say LSU was overrated last week? Thank you. I would like to never see them again in the Top 25. Louisville 89, Notre Dame 86 (OT) A 3-point shooting contest in the first 10 minutes turned rock-cold in the same half, but the steam picked up in the second half. Notre Dame had a tremendous opportunity to win the game, but when Louisville threw up that 3 as time expired, you knew it would go in. That's been Notre Dame's season, 20 points away from a Top 25 ranking for the season. Even though Louisville stole this win, that doesn't make them better at all. Wichita State 71, Southern Illinois 63 (2OT) Obviously a big defense performance by both squads. Both teams have the power to slow down top-heavy UNI and Creighton, but more importantly it showed that they have what it takes to play in the big dance with the others. Very, VERY good possibility to see 4 teams from The Valley in The Dance now. 1)UConn 88, 22)Indiana 80 The Hoosiers have been down as of late, but that's just been on the road. UConn torments them there all throughout the second half, and really made it unreachable. Great adjustment at halftime to stop all those 3's by Indiana. UConn showed why their number 1 this week, or you could look at it that Duke showed why they're number 2. Other Thillers: 4)Villanova 72, Marquette 67 Kent State 63, Akron 57 15)BC 74, Virginia Tech 73 George Mason 69, UNC-Wimington 69 3)Memphis 84, Rice 79 California 62, Oregon 60 Creighton 72, Drake 67 (OT) UTEP 69, Tulsa 62 |

| Thoughts on the Week OK, Kansas isn't in the Top 25 why? I think they've clearly shown how much better of a team they really are these past few weeks...4 teams from The Valley still have my vote to the big dance. Sorry Mizzou St...Quinn Snyder has reportedly stayed down in Lubbock to try and find a new job...How did UCLA give up that huge lead to Zona like that? Never before has game's been this close to each other...The Pac 10 is really starting to become more unwatchable than the Mountain West...Don't look now, but Georgetwon is a Top 4 seed contender...I am very shocked to see UNI still on the top 25 after that loss last Wednesday...Why is CBS Sportsline not giving Geo Wash the credit they deserve? Clearly the A-10 is not all that bad, just look at the B-10...It's gonna take a team to beat Indiana by 40 to knock them off this list...Boston College got screwed against Duke, not the hard foul but the technical against BC...At least Wisky ain't in the Top 25, so it's still legit...Tennessee deserves Top 10 ranking...Clemson will never beat North Carolina. |
