Frequently Asked Questions

Q: In what ways do you think you can make a contribution to our company?
A: I have an established track record as an effective organizer and team leader. I excel as a go-to person who will get things accomplished. As a new graduate with a degree in Information Systems Technology, I can now offer a fresh and eager perspective to the business and technological processes of an emerging ecommerce industry. I am skilled as an analytical thinker and problem solver. I work equally well in a team environment or on individual assignments. I can instruct in a variety of areas including electronics, economics, small business operations and management, as well as computer programming, database management, networking, Webpage design, and business software applications.
Q: What are your long-range career objectives?
A: My long term goals are to become a certified high school teacher. I plan on teaching business and IT related computer skills, but I can also teach electronics and computer related technical courses as well.
Q: Do you have plans for continued study? An advanced degree?
A: Currently, I am planning to use substitute teaching assignments to gain much needed classroom skills and apply for an alternative certification program. There is also the Masters degree option to consider when taking the required methods courses for alternative certification. I know that education is the key to keep up with the ever-changing technology and to make sure my knowledge and information is up-to-date.
Q: What two or three things are most important to you in your job?
A: The most important thing I look for in a position is that the company has an effective management policy, and the leaders are fair minded and knowledgeable. Good management offers not only motivational leadership but clear guidelines and support for the success in reaching the organization's goals. I think that a school environment is not unlike a large company and these traits are equally effective in focusing on providing a quality education. Because teaching is constantly changing, I would like to keep my skills up to date in order to provide the best possible instructions and explore new ideas. One other thing I look for is the environment. A positive environment is a productive environment.
Q: How do you work under pressure?
A: Aviation service is one of government regulations, flight deadlines and JIT pressures that require advance planning and teamwork as well as critical snap-decisions. Managing the day-to-day business operations of an aviation service business only increases this pressure. I have many years of experience in dealing with these kinds of situations as a team leader, business general manager, department manager and chief inspector.
