| "Compared to such talents as Melissa Ethridge, Kate Bush, Suzanne Vega and Tori Amos, singer/songwriter/musician Annie Johnsons strong voice, powerful melodies and unique lyrics has earned her many accolades, including Ninevolt Magazines Best Acoustic/Folk Artist Award in 2002." quote from the Peninsula Fine Arts Center web site |
| Annie Johnson has been performing in Hampton Roads since 1994, first as a guitarist & back-up singer for several bands and then fronting her own band, the AJB. She has played rock, folk, punk, pop, blues, and jazz, covers & originals, depending on the audience and the venue. The AJB is Annie's hard rocking band. They play a high energy mix of popular cover songs that they've made their own and originals. Solo, Annie plays acoustic guitar and assembles a set list to suit the audience & venue, everything from pop, folk, jazz and blues to hard classic & alternative rock and originals. |
