The first thing you have to do is save the skin to your computer. After you click on download, a window will show up asking you where you want to save it to. First you click on the arrow to make the window bigger, then you click on the [C:] drive and scroll down and select 'Program Files', then a list of the programs on your computer will appear. Scroll down until you find 'Yahoo' and click into the file. Then scroll down and find the file named 'Messenger' and click into it. Inside the 'Messenger' File there will be another file named 'Skins', select to file and click 'OK' on the download window.
Next, Go to your start menu and highlight 'Programs' and select 'Windows Explorer'. When it opens, scroll down and click on the little + next to 'Programs', then the + sign next to 'Yahoo', And then the + sign next to 'Messenger' and the + sign next to 'skins', then scroll down and find you skins 'Zip' file and then open it in your yahoo/messenger/skins file. You should then have a folder named the same as your 'Zip' file. I you have done this correctly, you should be able to go into your Yahoo Messenger 'Preferences' and go to appearance and select your skin.
