| Harlem Renaissance |
| The Harlem Renaissance took place from 1920 to the 1930s. It was an outburst of creativity among African Americans in all fields of art, and took place in the upper and lower Manhattan areas of New York City. The movement expressed the unique culture of the African Americans. Many factors contributed to its rise such as the great migration of African Americans to northern cities, and the rise of radical black intellectuals such as Locke, Marcus Garvey, and W.E.B. Du Bois. |
