Bauhaus
Bauhaus was a school of art, design and architecture founded in Germany in 1919.  It is known for its geometric designs and its respect for materials.  It started when Walter Gropius was appointed to two art schools and he combined them into one.  The school concentrated on functional cratsmanship and students were encouraged to keep in mind the benefits of mass-produced goods.  Among its teachers were Paul Klee, Lyonel Feninger, Wassily Kaninsky, Laszlo Moholy-Nay and Marcel Breuer.
