| In this painting, I tried to imitate the Impressionist movement. Impressionists were known for their outdoor paintings, and their capturing of light and color. I especially liked the works of Monet, one of the great artists of the movements. Monet was famous for his outside scenes, capturing the light and reflection of light on the water. While painting this, I tried to use short brush strokes, which was characteristic of an Impressionist painting, and a lot of color. However, I feel I may have used a little too many grays. The picture is of a real scene, with the Grand Tetons in the backround. I had copied it from a photograph I had taken during my last family vacation. |
