Corinia was a small planet orbiting a small sun in a distant galaxy. It was one of the few planets through out the universe that by some bizarre twist of fate, could support Life. Throughout the evolution of Corinia a plethora of straneg and exotic creatures emerged. As Corinia continued to Age and grow, it's life did so as well. The weaker creatures where consumed by the strong, and eventually the more intelligent creatures consumed the strong and weak alike. Through Natural Selection a race of intelligent bipedal beings was created. They dubbed the planet Corinia, and proclaimed themselves the Corinians. The Corians in every aspect resemble the Humans of the planet Earth, in fact, the Corians physiology and the Humans Physiology are practically identical. In addition to the emergence of the Corinians a more ancient group of animals evolved into what is known as the Ferali. The Ferali are a large race made up of many types of people. In appearance the Ferali look like a mixture of the Corinians and many of the beasts that inhabit Earth.Such as the Tiger, or the Fox. The Ferali are broken up into various tribal affiliations. Each tribe usually sticks with it's own type of Ferali. Intelligence wise these beings are quite wise. It is not rare for a Ferali to command a fleet of Trade vessels.
The Ferali and the Corinians over the next few hundred years populated the entire planet with their vast cities, and made great technological strides. However the planet could not take the strain of the massive technologies that were being created. Pollution ran unchecked into the world's oceans, and seeped deep into it's soil. The corrosive acids and chemicals ate away at the very core of the planet itself. Until one day the planet could stand no more of the constant abuse. On that day great crevasses opened in the Planets surface. the constant flow of chemicals and trash had created a deadly gas that billowed out of these crevasses covering the planet. The body count was horrific. two thirds of the population died in the years to follow as the gas ate away at the buildings and homes, destroying the factories, and laying waste to the cities. The Oceans turned to a thick black tar like substance and the forests died out or became horribly twisted with the poisons in the soil. Luckily for the many creatures on Corinia the Corinians and the Ferali had the technological power to raise whole cities into the air. Having no other choice the two races executed their plan, and 6 Major cities rose skyward, propelled by humongous machinery. It quickly became aparant that in order to survive the Cities would need some sort of way to procure materials and resources from the surface below. Adapting their technology massive Airships where created that could traverse the distance to the surface and harvest the necessary resources needed to survive. For awhile this worked great. Until the skybound people began to notice that the resources they harvested form the surface, such as metals and food was tainted with the very pollution that forced them to the skies. Faced with a new dilemma they sought other sources for their resources, eventually finding them in a most unlikely place.
Due to the Worldwide pollution the creatures left on the planet surface began to mutation and evolve rapidly over the next few years. Since even they could not use the current resources the planet produced they had to utilize what they could. As a result their bodies changed to absorb the tainted resources and filter them within their bodies, making their bodies a prime source for these materials. The races above wanted to take advantage of this fact but unfortunately their current technology was not quick and agile enough to hunt these creatures. Undaunted they scoured the planet over many expeditions and found 3 species that could help them with their problem. The Drakes. The Gryphons. The Pegasi. Capturing and taming these creatures the Ferali and Corinians were able to fly these beasts and hunt the creatures that housed the necessary resources. These new additions also helped to solve another problem plaguing the cities above. With the cities being so far apart around the world. There was no way to ship materials to each place. The invention of the airships solved this problem, but, it also created a much larger one. Independant parties would attack the trade ships with their own airships and plunder the cargo selling it on the black market. To help combat this the many corporations combined into 4, based in the 4 Major cities. However sue to the high competition between the 4 newly formed corporations, the problem got worse. Not only would Pirates and Mauraders attacks the trade vessels. But mercenaries hired by rival corporations would attack as well. Something was needed to help defend against these attacks. The discovery of the mounted creatures was the perfect solution. They could disembark from the ships and defend against attacks. Thus is the history of the Planet Corinia, Lone planet in orbit of it's lonely Sun. Welcome. To the Skies of Requiem.
