Youth Sprint at
Junior/Youth World Championships

Peer Lange-Ibu

HAUTE-MAURIENNE, France Due to 25 cm of fresh snow the start of the Sprint competition of the Youth men had to be postponed to 10:30 am, in order to ensure good and safe conditions for all athletes.

Given such great conditions, the youth man could show a good performance and the Candian Jean Phillip LE GUELLEC surprised with his victory. He just missed one target and finished in the time of 22:09.4 minutes.

Klemen BAUER was 35,1 seconds slower and achieved his second podium position with 3 missed targets after his 3rd place in the Individual competition.

Norwegian Stan NAVIK could jump on the podium with a good shooting performance and the US team was quite happy about the 4th position of Benjamin BYRNE.

Pavel BORISOV, the World Champion of the Individual competition, ended up on the 8th position due to 3 missed targets and probably not the best skis. Peter DOKL who ranked 2nd in the Individual was fairly disappointed about his 17th position.
