Walking Log
August 2002
11th August Sherkin
A group of 29 took a special ferry from Oldcourt to Sherkin Island.

The colours in the hedgerows were amazing, with Montbretia (Crocosmia) and Ragwort in particular evidence combining with the Fuschia to create an amazing display.

Unlike last time on Sherkin, the weather was very kind. The views were spectacular as this one of Cape Clear illustrates
We lunched at Tra Cru beach, on the western end of the island in glorious sunshine.

Some of us were captivated by the atmosphere of the island, and secret gardens glimpsed through magic gateways.
