Carving:

When you carve you are making nice steady turns, and "carving" into the snow. A way to ensure a good carve is to try and keep your feet as close together as possible. To practice this, just go on an EASY slope, and make short tight turns all the way down the run. A few times of this will help you carve and make awesome carves up on the slopes that will make your friends sweat at.

Lose the ego:
Your first hill on skiboards should be no more than a green. So you've skied all your life, have you? I DON'T CARE! Skiboards are a new feeling no matter what you are used to. They require a different balance than what is required by skis. Having a high ego will do nothing but send you to the hospital because you were trying to show off to your friends. Besides, if you start off right, you'll probably be skiing the black diamonds by the end of the day anyway. So just start small and work your way up.
