Dear Kohatians,
On behalf of the Old Boys Association, we (the office bearer committee) would like to thank all Kohatians who participated in the get-together dinner of February 19, 2000 at Islamabad Club and most of all, we are grateful to our honourable teachers Professor Hamdani, Professor Kaifi, Professor Shams and Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman for gracing the occasion. We all know that in some corner of our heart, the golden memories of our past at Cadet College Kohat are always there to cherish each other and to make us feel proud of being part of one big family which will continue flourishing with passage of time (Inshaallah). Good news! Mr. Khurshid Anwar Baig is in Islamabad, he can be reached @ Ph: 278105.
We extend our special thanks to our Kohatians including Dr. Farrukh Hasnain and Mr.Islam Javed from Lahore, Mr. Abdullah Shah and Mr. Turab Ali from Akora Khattak, Col. Dr. Shafiuddin and Mr. Mohammad Ali Shah from Abbottabad and Mr. Ikram Ghani from Peshawar, who have travelled all the way to attend our get-together. In addition to the committee members, we are also thankful to R.Pindi/ Isbd. based Kohatians including Col. Zafar, Lt. Col. Samiullah Khattak, Capt. Faisal and others for their active support and efforts in putting together the last event.
Tragic News:
We are all extremely sorry to know about the sad and tragic death of Alamzeb Afridi (Kit 465, Munawrian) in a car accident while travelling from Taxila to Havallian on 4th March (Saturday)2000. A condolence message from Kohatians Old Boys Association was sent to his family via telegram. May God rest his soul in peace (Amin). We will offer "Fatiha" in our next get-together.

Hats off to them, they are really doing a good job. In addition to the above, we have had full support and cooperation from Ahmed Rasool Bangash (Kit # 106, Ayubian, Ph: 051-9202312) in putting together our gatherings at Islamabad Club. It may please be mentioned that Mr. Ahmed Rasool Bangash is Member, Board of Governor's CCK for the last five and half years, off course, in addition to being a civil servant.
Currently, Mr. Salim Baz Khan has voluntarily provided the required office facilities for running the Old Boys Association within his office, three cheers for his generosity. We are sure that other Kohatians would follow his foot steps, his office address is:-

One Time Fee:
All Kohatians are requested to pay Rs. 500/- per person as one time membership fee for the Old Boys Association. Fee can be deposited directly through bank draft or crossed check payable to "Dr. Maqbool-ur-Rashid" (Account # 1586-9) MCB Stock Exchange Branch, Islamabad.
Volunteer donations in addition to one time fee will be very much appreciated to keep the Old Boys Association functional in a better way. The accounts/ Financial record will be available with Secretary Finance for inspection by any of the member on any working day.
Get-togethers:
Every year, the Committee will organize at least four quarterly get-togethers including an annual Eid Milan party. Fee for each get-together will be approximately Rs. 200/- per person. Next get-together is anticipated during April 2000, to celebrate promotion of our proud Kohatian Brig. Sabahat (Kit # 16, Ph: 042-66994140) to the rank of Maj. General. Congratulations to all Kohatians!
Directory of Kohatians:
This is a major attraction for each Kohatian. We have prepared a list of all Kohatians which is still in process of finalization. The first draft is being attached, herewith, for your information and further improvement. Printing and binding has costed Rs. 60/- per copy. We have e-mailed this directory for Kohatians having access to this facility, free of charge. Please let us know your comments about completing this directory. Your kind suggestions shall highly be appreciated.
Souvenirs:	
The leather wallets and Car stickers distributed by Dr. Farrukh Hasnain at the get- together were very much appreciated by everyone. The price of wallet is for Rs. 100 while the car sticker is for Rs. 50.Kohatians who are interested to buy these items, please contact Dr. Maqbool Cheema.
Suggestions/ Ideas:
All Kohatians are welcome to share their ideas or suggestions for further improvement in functioning or working of the Old Boys Association. Recently, we were very much pleased to see an encouraging Newsletter from, Imtiaz Baloch (Kit # 170, Khushalian, Ph: 051-520539) for expressing his thoughts and efforts for bringing Kohatians together. It is recommended that Mr. Baloch shall be appointed as Advisor in the Office Bearer Committee. Keep it up Mr. Baloch.
Suggestions/ Ideas!
o	We would request the Administration @ CCK to allocate a show case or a wooden/glass 	box to serve as our "Old Boys AssociationCorner" showing/ presenting miscellaneous information including achievementsof Kohatians, and other good or bad new concerning Kohatians.
o	We would like to introduce a "Welfare Fund" for well being of Kohatians/ welfare oriented schemes and project for Kohatians.
o	We would like to include in our menu "a musical evening" in every alternate get-to gather and possibly arrange for families participation, with separate enclosure.
o	In our last get-together, we were not allowed to take photographs as per Islamabad Club's rules. Next time we will ensure that all such surprises are taken care well in time.
o	Exclusive get-together of Kohatians families would also be encouraged.
