I picked "Make it Happen", by Mariah Carey because it is about not giving up. No matter how bad you think the situation is, the more you have to "hold on" and "be strong." In your heart, you need to have the will to proceed and you have to believe that you can do it. I honestly feel that this is an area that I�m very strong in.

"Phenomenal Woman", by Maya Angelou, simply describes how women should feel about themselves. It makes me think about the good qualities I have about how I look when I�m not feeling so good about them. "It�s the sun of my smile�" I�ve been told that I have a nice smile so that is something that I say to myself when I�m not feeling to happy about my height. This song helps me see that even though I might not look like other girls and I may not even feel as wanted or liked as other girls, I still have some good features about me that they don�t have about them. You have to love being who you are, and the first step to that, it believing and loving yourself.

"What You See is What You Get", by Britany Spears, is a song about how you shouldn�t for a guy. Nobody should try and change you or anything about you. If somebody doesn�t like something about you, then that�s his or her problem. I feel that I have a little problem dealing with situations like that. I have a problem with always trying to please everyone and having everyone like me and do what ever I can to make them. I put this song in here because when ever I listen to it, it always makes me think about how I don�t always have to please everyone and how I just have to do what is in my heart.

"Risks", which is in the book "The Dilemma", has an unknown author. Taking risks might be one of the hardest things about living. Do I cheat on a test? Do I go out for the team when I might not make it? Taking a risk may also be taken as having no fear. I don�t believe that this is true. You could be scared out of your mind and still cheat on a test. Its what we are willing to "risk" that�s the key. If I cheat on my test I wont get to play on the soccer team. In that situation, if you do wind up cheating, you risking a lot. To take a risk you have to have a lot of faith in yourself and believe that what your doing is either the right thing or simply the thing you want to do. I�m not a very big risk taker and I would like to change that.

"Generation Gap", by Buddy Hackett is about not feeling you in the right place. "What do you do when you�re in-between?" Have you ever had your parents be talking with their friends and then they say to you "your too young to hear this?" That sucks. You feel that you are old enough to know what they are talking about, but for some reason, they don�t feel the same way. Throughout life, many things like this happen. We aren�t old enough to drive yet, although we think we could. We are in-between, we are too old to be riding bikes, yet too young to be driving on our own. To get through these life problems, we have to face them and simply wait them out. For some people, like me, I have problems waiting. I always want to do what my heart desires. However, I know better not to go into my moms� car and drive away.

The author of the friendship quote is unknown as well. I chose this quote because throughout life this is the kind of friendship people look for. I feel very lucky to say that I have a best friend that I feel this applies to. We don�t have to talk to know what each other are thinking, which is a great quality. Have you ever felt like you were going to cry when someone talked to you or when you said your next word? Well when I�m with this friend, I don�t feel like I need to say a thing and I still know that she knows something is wrong.

"I Turn to You", by Christina Aguilera, is also about friendship. To have the ability to go to someone whenever you are feeling down is great. It also talks about how this person is always there for you no matter what. You can really only do this for a person if you love them, you can only really be there for them if you love them.

"Crash and Burn", by Savage Garden, is about me. Me being able to be there for people when they need me. I love helping people and I love being a shoulder for them to cry on. I simply like to help people and that is exactly what this song describes. Me being there for my friends is what is being sang by Savage Garden.
